Progress Software invites a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our global team and enhance the reliability, security, and performance of our customer-facing systems. You will bridge development and operations, applying strong engineering practices to scale and secure our infrastructure.

Your background includes 6+ years in production SRE roles, hands-on with Windows/Linux, scripting, and cloud services, plus familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration. APJ hours apply.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of proven experience in a Senior SRE or similar role in production environments.
• Degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
• Experience with PCI, HIPAA, SOC2 compliance is a plus.
• Strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, PowerShell) and cloud services (Azure/AWS/GCP).

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliability, security, and performance of customer-facing systems and infrastructure.
• Bridge development and operations with IaC and automation.
• Implement observability, monitoring, and incident response processes.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, and support in agile environments.
• Handle complex provisioning and on-call rotations; perform postmortems.
• Maintain cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Champion IaC using Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

We’re looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to help ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our customer-facing systems and infrastructure. This role bridges development and operations, applying engineering principles to improve system resilience and scalability.

In This Role, You Will

• Security & Compliance: Safeguard systems against breaches and ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC2, and other standards.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Build and maintain scalable, secure services in Azure, AWS, or GCP using cloud-native tools.
• Automation & System Admin: Automate routine tasks, manage backups, and configure servers for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Monitoring & Performance: Implement observability tools, optimize system performance, and proactively address issues.
• Incident Response: Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot service incidents, and lead postmortem reviews.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, QA, and support teams in agile environments.
• Customer Provisioning: Handle complex customer account setups in coordination with Sales and Professional Services.
• Infrastructure as Code: Champion IaC practices using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 6+ years of Proven experience in a Senior SRE or similar role in production environments.
• Strong skills in Windows/Linux, scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell), and cloud services (ECS, EKS, S3, etc.).
• Good to have hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with security protocols, network concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS), and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to debug, optimize, and automate to reduce operational toil.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Experience with PCI, HIPAA, and SOC2 compliance.
• Experience with cloud-hosted apps/services (Azure/AWS)
• Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks to eliminate toil.
• Willing to work in APJ Time zone [7:00 AM to 4:00 PM IST]
