Job summary

H&M seeks a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to build and maintain automated systems, reduce manual work, and improve performance across our ecommerce platforms. You will partner with development teams to embed reliability in the software lifecycle and help drive stability, scalability, and efficient incident response.

You will own incident response, monitor apps, and drive improvements in release processes and reliability metrics for a fast-paced digital environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Site Reliability Engineering, maintenance & operations.
• Strong working experience in Ecommerce.
• Hands-on with Firebase (Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, Remote Config, inApp Messaging).
• Experience operating mobile apps in production: crash/ANR triage, release management.
• Knowledge of Apple/Google release models and app signing.

Job description

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will be responsible for building and maintaining robust, automated systems that reduce manual intervention and improve overall system efficiency. They play a key role in incident response, performance optimization, and infrastructure management, often working closely with development teams to integrate reliability into the software development lifecycle.

This area builds on the existing Product Operations and Online Applications units, reflecting the organization’s evolution toward a more integrated digital capability and focusing on enabling teams to deliver with excellence. E2E Digital Operations - Critical product going forward, strengthening core capabilities in our new way of operating and supporting the E2E of our developing decoupled tech landscape.

You will work closely with a Product Manager (PM), Engineering Manager (EM), and Tech Lead to define, prioritize, and deliver frontend initiatives aligned with product and business goals. Together, you will ensure clear ownership, strong technical direction, and high-quality execution of deliverables.

WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for people with...

• 3+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, maintenance & operations and/or development.
• Strong working experience eCommerce.
• Hands-on experience with Firebase (Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, Remote Config, inApp Messaging).
• Experience operating mobile applications in production: crash and ANR triage, stability rate ownership, release management through App Store Connect and Google Play Console.
• Working knowledge of the Apple and Google release model: review guidelines and approval flow, phased rollouts, app signing, certificate and APNs key management, annual OS releases and target API level deadlines.
• Experience supporting multiple app versions live in production simultaneously, with backward-compatible API and a minimum supported version strategy.
• Experience mitigating production issues without shipping a new build: remote config, feature flags, kill switches, server-side fixes.
• Experience defining SLIs / SLOs for mobile (crash-free users and sessions, ANR rate, app start time, client-side API error and latency rates) and analysing them by app version, OS version, device model and market.
• Comfortable using store reviews and ratings as an operational signal alongside technical telemetry
• Experience within solutions architecture and how to fast pinpoint causes of issues
