Job summary

Microland is seeking a senior systems engineer to design, operate, and improve VMware-based private cloud infrastructure across multiple datacenter environments. You will build automation to reduce manual effort and strengthen operational reliability.

The role requires deep hands-on expertise in VMware, Linux, and Windows Server, plus automation with PowerShell/PowerCLI, Python, or Ansible. You will work with cross-functional teams to enhance platform resilience, security, and performance while

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on expertise with VMware vSphere including ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, vMotion, and distributed switching.
• Advanced Linux systems administration, including troubleshooting, hardening, patching, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory, including DNS, Group Policy, and authentication services.
• Proven ability to build automation using PowerShell/PowerCLI, Python, or Ansible.
• Strong enterprise datacenter knowledge across compute, storage, networking, monitoring, and operational support.
• Excellent problem-solving skills focused on reliability, scalability, and operational improvement.

• Administer and troubleshoot Linux and Windows Server platforms that support critical business and customer-facing workloads.


• Support core infrastructure integrations including Active Directory, DNS, authentication services, networking, storage, and load balancing.


• Drive improvements in platform resilience, performance, security, and compliance through engineering best practice and infrastructure modernization.


• Work closely with network, security, SRE, and DevOps teams, while contributing technical leadership, documentation, and mentoring to strengthen engineering standards.

Preferred candidate profile

Strong experience in systems engineering or infrastructure roles, including significant time operating at a senior or staff level.

• Deep hands-on expertise with VMware vSphere, including ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, vMotion, and distributed switching.


• Advanced Linux systems administration skills, including troubleshooting, hardening, patching, and performance tuning.


• Practical experience with Windows Server and Active Directory, including DNS, Group Policy, and authentication services.


• Proven ability to build automation using tools such as PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, Ansible, or similar.


• Strong enterprise datacenter knowledge across compute, storage, networking, monitoring, and operational support.
