Job summary

Good co India is seeking an experienced VMware Infrastructure Administrator to join our IT team in India. You will administer, configure, and maintain our VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments, ensuring high availability and performance.

The role covers patching, upgrades, lifecycle management, and collaboration with network, storage, and security teams on hybrid cloud projects. Strong scripting skills with PowerCLI/PowerShell and ITIL-aligned processes are valued.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of VMware virtualization and infrastructure administration.
  • Strong expertise in vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN and NSX.
  • Experience with HA/DRS/vMotion/SRM and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments.
  • Manage virtual machines, clusters, resource allocation, and lifecycle management.
  • Monitor and optimize virtualization infrastructure for performance, availability, and capacity.
  • Implement and manage VMware HA, DRS, vMotion, vSAN, and SRM solutions.
  • Perform installation, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting of VMware infrastructure.
  • Manage server hardware, storage, and data center operations.
  • Configure backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  • Automate administrative tasks using PowerCLI, PowerShell, or scripting tools.
  • Collaborate with network, storage, cloud, and security teams for infrastructure projects.
  • Support hybrid cloud environments including VMware Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
  • Ensure infrastructure security, compliance, and adherence to ITIL processes.
  • Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams.
  • Resolve L2/L3 incidents and provide technical support for critical production environments.

Preferred candidate profile
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in VMware virtualization and infrastructure administration.
  • Strong expertise in VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter Server, vSAN, and VMware NSX.
  • Experience with VMware HA, DRS, vMotion, SRM, and lifecycle management.
  • Good knowledge of Windows Server, Linux administration, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Hands-on experience with SAN/NAS storage, server hardware, and backup solutions such as Veeam.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or VMware Cloud.
  • Proficiency in PowerCLI, PowerShell, or Bash scripting for automation.
  • Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, and firewall fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes, monitoring tools, and change management.
  • VMware VCP certification preferred; VCAP, RHCSA, CCNA, AWS, or Azure certifications are an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related discipline.
