Job summary

Siemens Energy India Limited seeks an experienced Site Manager with 10+ years in EHV AIS/GIS substations to lead on-site activities. You will supervise installation, testing and commissioning, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with customers and subcontractors to meet milestones.

The role requires hands-on experience in high/medium voltage substations, strong leadership, and a commitment to project quality and delivery within budget. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in electrical engineering is required.
• Practical field experience with high/medium voltage substations.
• Experience in electrical industry, utilities or electrical infrastructure markets.
• Minimum 10 years of working experience as a Site Manager.
• Self-motivated and results-driven.

Responsibilities

• Handle individual projects on-site.
• Supervise installation, commissioning and handover of AIS/GIS extension projects.
• Provide customer support and recommendations based on business environment.
• Monitor and control project timelines, quality and budget.
• Negotiate requirements with subcontractors and manage contracts.
• Travel occasionally for FAT or factory visits as required.
• Comply with Siemens’ Zero Harm policy and safety standards.
• Basic civil/structural knowledge and hands-on commissioning experience is advantageous.

How You'll Make an Impact

• He/she should handle individual projects Site.
• He/she should have hands on experience in EHV AIS/GIS projects. AIS/GIS substation Extensions / R&M / green field projects.
• Responsibility for Supervision of Installation, Commissioning and hand over of AIS/GIS Extension projects.
• Provide support to the customer at all times, including providing recommendations based on a thorough understanding of the customer’s business and operational environment.
• Ensuring commercial contract conditions and timelines are met, including management of contract variations & change management.
• Practical experience on installation, testing and commissioning work for high voltage and/or medium voltage switchgear (design and / or delivery).
• Monitoring & control of the project, including necessary interventions, to ensure achievement of delivery milestones, timelines & quality within the project budget.
• Rigorously monitor and negotiate requirements and fulfilment of project specific conditions with multiple subcontractors and suppliers, including negotiation and agreement of contracts.
• Risk management, claim management including development & implementation of suitable technical & commercial mitigation strategies.
• Provide ongoing monitoring and timely reporting of project status against project targets.
• Occasionally travelling, eg. FAT, Factory visit with customers based on project requirement.
• Strictly complying to Siemens’ Zero Harm policy in environment, health and safety at all time by regularly checking compliance of projects and with subcontractors.
• Basic civil and structural knowledge & hands on Commissioning experience in AIS/GIS project would be an advantage.

We provide EPC for high and extra high voltage projects pertinent to AIS/GIS, Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System (FACTS) devices and High Voltage Direct Current Voltage Source Converter (HVDC VSC) technology. Further, we off er an extensive range of services for the complete lifecycle of the High Voltage /Extra High Voltage asset and projects including bay extension, substation modernisation, product retrofitting and overhauling, emergency services, breakdown services, Long Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), maintenance contracts, O&M contracts and spares.
