The Site Engineer - FPS (Fire Protection System) is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing all fire protection system installation activities in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, safety regulations, quality standards, and project schedules. The role includes managing the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire sprinkler systems, hydrant systems, hose reel systems, fire pumps, underground and above-ground firefighting piping networks, clean agent suppression systems, foam systems, water mist systems, and associated fire protection infrastructure. The engineer shall review shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, method statements, material submittals, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
Responsibilities include coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth execution of works and timely completion of project milestones. The engineer shall monitor site progress, manage manpower and resources, conduct inspections, verify installation quality, and resolve technical and construction-related issues. Additional duties include ensuring proper installation of fire pumps, valves, piping systems, sprinkler heads, hydrants, supports, seismic restraints, and interfacing systems. The Site Engineer shall coordinate testing and commissioning activities such as hydrostatic testing, flushing, pump performance testing, integrated system testing, and acceptance inspections with relevant stakeholders.
The role also involves preparing daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, maintaining inspection and testing records, ensuring compliance with quality and HSE requirements, supporting authority inspections, and assisting in project handover documentation. Experience in Data Centre, Industrial, Commercial Building, Healthcare, Infrastructure, or Mission Critical Facility projects is preferred. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of fire protection systems, hydraulic principles, testing and commissioning procedures, and relevant standards such as NFPA, FM Global, UL, LPCB, and local fire authority regulations. A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience is required.
