Job summary

GoGreen Charging India Private Limited is seeking a Site Electrical Engineer in Chennai to lead electrical site execution for EV charging infrastructure projects.

You will supervise installation of electrical panels, transformers, cables, perform testing and commissioning, and coordinate with TNEB/TANGEDCO and contractors.

The role requires 2–5 years of experience in industrial electrical projects; diploma/B.E./B.Tech; travel to project sites and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level or diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with relevant certification.
• Experience in electrical site engineering and EV infrastructure is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise electrical installation activities at EV charging station project sites.
• Oversee installation of EV charging equipment, electrical panels, transformers, cables and related electrical accessories.
• Coordinate with TNEB/TANGEDCO and contractors for site-level electrical requirements.

GoGreen Charging India Private Limited is an emerging company in the EV infrastructure sector, focused on developing and expanding Electric Vehicle charging station networks across India.

Our operations involve land acquisition, electrical and civil infrastructure development, equipment procurement, installation, project execution and coordination with TNEB/TANGEDCO and other relevant authorities.

We are looking for a technically skilled and proactive Site Electrical Engineer who can manage electrical site activities and contribute to the successful execution of our EV charging infrastructure projects.

1. Electrical Site Execution

• - Supervise and execute electrical installation activities at EV charging station project sites.
• - Oversee installation of EV charging equipment, electrical panels, transformers, cables and related electrical accessories.
• - Manage cable laying, cable termination, earthing, electrical connections and distribution systems.
• - Ensure proper electrical infrastructure readiness before equipment installation.
• - Monitor electrical work according to approved drawings and technical specifications.

2. TNEB / TANGEDCO Coordination

• - Coordinate with TNEB/TANGEDCO regarding project-related electrical infrastructure requirements.
• - Support activities related to electricity connections, load requirements and transformer installations.
• - Coordinate with relevant authorities and electrical contractors for site-level requirements.
• - Assist in technical documentation and follow-ups related to electrical approvals and connections.

3. Installation, Testing & Commissioning

• - Supervise installation and commissioning of EV charging stations.
• - Conduct or coordinate electrical testing, inspection and safety checks.
• - Verify proper functioning of electrical connections and equipment.
• - Coordinate with equipment suppliers and technical teams for installation and troubleshooting.
• - Ensure project readiness before final commissioning.

4. Project Planning & Coordination

• - Coordinate with civil engineers for transformer foundations, cable trenches and equipment foundations.
• - Work with procurement teams to identify electrical material requirements.
• - Monitor project timelines, workforce allocation and material availability.
• - Coordinate with vendors, contractors and project teams to ensure timely execution.

5. Quality, Safety & Documentation

• - Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety standards and project specifications.
• - Monitor site safety practices and electrical work quality.
• - Maintain electrical drawings, installation records, testing reports and site documentation.
• - Prepare daily progress reports and update project management.

Required Skills & Competencies

• - Strong knowledge of electrical installations and site execution.
• - Understanding of transformers, LT/HT panels, cables, earthing and electrical distribution systems.
• - Knowledge of electrical load calculations and basic electrical design.
• - Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
• - Familiarity with testing, commissioning and electrical troubleshooting.
• - Knowledge of electrical safety practices and applicable standards.
• - Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• - Proficiency in MS Excel and project documentation.
• - Willingness to travel to project locations as required.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• - 2–5 years of experience in electrical site engineering preferred.
• - Experience in industrial electrical projects, infrastructure, power distribution or commercial electrical installations.
• - EV charging infrastructure experience will be an added advantage, but is not mandatory.
• - Candidates with exposure to TNEB/TANGEDCO coordination and transformer installations will be preferred.
• - Candidates should demonstrate ownership, technical confidence and a willingness to work on field projects.
