Job summary

Siemens Energy India Limited seeks an EHS Professional to drive implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety requirements across projects, ensuring compliance with ISO 45001 and applicable regulations. You will oversee risk assessments, PTW, and contractor safety management while promoting a proactive safety culture at site.

The role requires 3–7 years of relevant EHS experience, advanced safety qualifications, and strong leadership to stop unsafe work and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

Advanced safety qualification with emphasis on industrial projects.
Experience in EHS in turbine/generator overhauling and electrical installations.
NEBOSH IGC and related safety certifications are required.

Responsibilities

Implement site EHS plans and risk controls.
Conduct site EHS inspections and audits.
Monitor LOTO and PTW activities.
Ensure safety during electrical installations and testing.

Snapshot of the day (EHS Professional, TI-STG, India)

Responsible for driving the implementation and monitoring of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements across project and service sites for Steam Turbine & Generator Overhauling, Electrical & Instrumentation Installation, Control Panel Installation, Cable Tray Erection, Cable Laying & Termination, and Testing & Commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with company EHS policies, client specifications, applicable legal and statutory regulations, and ISO 45001 standards to maintain a safe and incident-free work environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Key Responsibilities

1. Safety Management
- Implement site-specific EHS plans, procedures and risk controls.
- Ensure compliance with client and company EHS requirements.
- Conduct site EHS inspections and audits.
- Verify adequacy of safety arrangements before commencement of work.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and compliance.
2. Risk Assessment & Permit Management
- Facilitate Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessment and Method Statement reviews.
- Monitor Permit to Work (PTW) activities including:
- Ensure LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) requirements are implemented.
3. Electrical Safety
- Monitor safety during: Control panel installation, Instrumentation works, Cable pulling and termination, Energization activities, Testing & commissioning works
- Verify electrical tools and equipment inspections.
- Ensure use of insulated tools and appropriate PPE.
- Monitor temporary electrical installations.
4. Work at Height Safety
- Ensure compliance with working-at-height requirements.
- Verify scaffold inspections and tagging.
- Conduct periodic inspections of access platforms and work areas.
6. Contractor Safety Management
- Ensure availability of trained supervisors and operators.
- Participate in contractor performance evaluations.
- Conduct: Site safety induction, Daily toolbox talks, Safety campaigns, Safety observations, Work-specific trainings
- Promote proactive safety culture at site.
- Report incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
- Participate in incident investigations.
- Identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Track closure of action items.
- Support implementation of emergency response plans.
- Conduct mock drills.
- Ensure availability and inspection of: Fire extinguishers, First aid boxes, Emergency equipment
10. Documentation & Reporting
- Submit EHS reports to EHS Head and

What You Bring

Qualification & Experience

Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS)
Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / B.Sc.
Minimum 3-7 years of relevant EHS experience in industrial projects, turbine-generator overhauling, electrical installation, or maintenance activities.
NEBOSH IGC
First Aid & CPR Certification
Internal Auditor Training on ISO 45001
Electrical Safety Training
Strong knowledge of construction and industrial safety practices.
Knowledge of electrical safety and LOTO.
Understanding of turbine-generator maintenance activities.
Experience in cable tray installation and cable laying projects.
Knowledge of Permit to Work Systems.
Good communication and leadership skills.
Ability to stop unsafe work and implement corrective actions.
