Job summary

Siemens Energy India Limited is hiring an EHS Officer for the Vadodara site to drive environmental, health and safety practices across projects. The role focuses on statutory compliance, proactive safety culture, and continual improvement through the project lifecycle.

You will coordinate with contractors, lead EHS training, and deliver regular performance reports while enforcing safety policies onsite.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or Science.
• Industrial Safety Diploma/PG Diploma and NEBOSH.
• SITRUST Training and First Aid Certification.
• 10–12 years of EHS management experience in EPC/construction.
• At least 5 years as independent EHS in-charge at project sites.
• Experience with power plant projects: turbines, boilers, gearboxes.

Responsibilities

• Advise and support site and project management on EHS compliance and SIEMENS Energy policies.
• Develop and monitor project-specific EHS Plans for all site activities.
• Prepare Risk Assessments, HIRA, SWMS, SOPs, and Emergency Plans.
• Lead EHS kick-off meetings with contractors and verify resources.
• Organize medical camps and verify health records of site personnel.
• Deliver EHS inductions and a site-specific training calendar.
• Oversee Toolbox Talks, LMRA, and PTW across all work fronts.
• Conduct inspections and drive corrective actions.
• Verify lifting tools, scaffolding, cranes safety before use.
• Promote safety culture and drive continual improvement with contractors.
• Maintain compliance registers and report to Project Manager.
• Submit monthly EHS performance reports to Segment EHS Manager.
• Enforce EHS policies, targets, and Rewards & Consequences at site.

A Snapshot of Your Day (EHS Professional, TI-STG, India)

As an EHS Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring effective implementation of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices across project and service sites. The role focuses on ensuring statutory compliance, fostering a proactive safety culture, and driving continual improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Advise and support site and project management in complying with applicable statutory EHS requirements and in implementing Siemens Energy’s EHS Management System.
• Develop, implement, and monitor project-specific EHS Plans covering all phases of site activities.
• Support preparation and review of Risk Assessments, HIRA, SWMS, SOPs, and Emergency Response Plans for project operations.
• Conduct EHS kick-off meetings with contractors and evaluate their EHS manpower, resources, and equipment readiness.
• Organize medical camps and verify medical fitness and health records of all site personnel.
• Deliver site EHS inductions and implement a structured, site-specific EHS training calendar.
• Monitor effective implementation of Toolbox Talks, LMRA (Last Minute Risk Assessment), and Permit to Work (PTW) systems across all work fronts.
• Conduct routine and special site inspections to identify unsafe acts and conditions and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
• Verify safety compliance of lifting tools & tackles, scaffolding, cranes, and other construction equipment prior to use.
• Lead EHS awareness and promotional programs to strengthen safety culture across the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with contractors to review EHS performance and support continual improvement initiatives.
• Maintain and regularly update legal and compliance registers, and communicate relevant updates to the Project Manager.
• Prepare and submit monthly EHS performance reports to the Segment EHS Manager, and ensure timely incident reporting and investigation.
• Enforce Siemens Energy EHS policies, targets, and Rewards & Consequences framework at site level.

What You Bring

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering or Science.
• Diploma / Advanced Diploma / Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety.
• NEBOSH
• SITRUST Training
• First Aid Certification
• 10–12 years of overall experience in EHS management within EPC / construction project environments.
• Minimum 5 years as an independent EHS in‑charge at project site level.
• Hands‑on experience in power plant projects, including:

1. Turbine, Generator, and Gearbox installation and service
2. Boiler erection and commissioning activities

• Strong knowledge of EHS practices related to heavy equipment erection, mechanical works, and commissioning activities.
• In-depth understanding of EHS procedures, statutory compliance, and legal regulations.
• Expertise in EHS planning, audits, HIRA, contractor evaluation, and workforce training.
• Proficient in preparing EHS MIS reports and delivering performance presentations to management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English and Hindi is essential.
• Strong coordination, leadership, and supervisory abilities.
• Effective stakeholder management with the ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture.
• Strong documentation, analytical reporting, and presentation skills.
