Job summary

Alstom in India is seeking an experienced EHS professional to safeguard people and assets while minimizing environmental impact. You will develop and maintain the site's EHS management system and work with site management, EHS engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams.

This role focuses on implementing policies, leading audits, training, and driving a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate holds an engineering or related degree and recognized health and safety

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Health & Safety qualification recognized by local authorities.
  • Environmental qualification desirable.
  • Proven experience in EHS risk assessment and management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the site's EHS management system.
  • Lead implementation of EHS policies and improvement plans.
  • Conduct EHS risk assessments and implement controls.
  • Prepare emergency plans at site level.
  • Ensure subcontractor activities meet EHS standards.
  • Lead and develop the EHS team at the site.
  • Develop local EHS procedures and tools.
  • Monitor compliance with statutory/regulatory requirements.
  • Foster EHS culture and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct EHS training and communication initiatives.
  • Report, analyze, and review EHS performance data.
  • Lead internal EHS audits and inspections.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your environmental, health, and safety (EHS) expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside a proactive and collaborative team of professionals.

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our people and contractors while minimizing environmental impacts and safeguarding Alstom’s assets. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with site management, EHS engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams, driving the implementation of EHS policies, supporting operational management, and ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company requirements.

You’ll specifically take care of developing and maintaining the site’s EHS management system, but also lead initiatives to foster a strong EHS culture and continuous improvement.

  • Supporting site management in achieving EHS performance goals
  • Driving the implementation of EHS policies and improvement plans
  • Conducting EHS risk assessments and implementing control measures
