Job summary

AppsForBharat is seeking a Shopify Engineer to own development and optimization of our Shopify-based commerce experiences, with strong emphasis on React and UI/frontend work. This is a hands-on role based in Bengaluru, with office-based work and 5 days a week.

You will build, customize and maintain Shopify storefronts, themes and features, translate designs from Figma into production-ready interfaces, and collaborate with product, design and engineering to improve conversion and performance

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of frontend/e-commerce development experience with strong hands-on Shopify expertise.
• Proficiency in React.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of HTML/CSS, responsive design and UI development.
• Experience converting designs from Figma to production-ready interfaces.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Ability to own features end-to-end with good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate Figma/design requirements into pixel-perfect interfaces.
• Troubleshoot frontend, Shopify and integration-related issues.
• Work with Product, Design, Growth and Engineering to ship customer-facing experiences.
• Monitor and improve conversion, checkout and overall commerce experience.

We are looking for a Shopify Engineer who can own the development and optimization of our Shopify-based commerce experiences, while also being strong on the React and UI/frontend side.

What you'll do

What we're looking for

• 3–6 years of experience in frontend/e-commerce development, with strong hands-on experience in Shopify.

• Strong experience with Shopify development, Liquid and Shopify APIs.

• Strong proficiency in React.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Good understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design and UI development.

• Experience converting designs from Figma to production-ready interfaces.

• Understanding of REST APIs and third-party integrations.

• Strong understanding of frontend performance and web optimization.

• Experience working on consumer-facing/B2C products or e-commerce platforms is preferred.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently own features end-to-end.

Good to have

• Experience with Shopify Plus.

• Experience with Shopify app development.

• Experience with Hydrogen / headless Shopify.

• Knowledge of web analytics, SEO and conversion optimization.

• Experience working with high-traffic consumer websites.
