Job summary

Asian Paints Limited is seeking a Shift Lead – Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) to manage maintenance planning, breakdown analysis and safety compliance on the shop floor in Ankleshwar. The role entails coordinating manpower, executing preventive and predictive maintenance, and ensuring accurate SAP/Maintwiz records and work orders.

The successful candidate will oversee inspections per SMS/EMS/QMS, generate shift reports, and drive continual improvements through 5S, Kaizen and energy-saving

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance of process equipment and line optimisation.
• Familiarity with SAP workflow for engineering and maintenance records.
• Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, SPC and energy-saving initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Attend line breakdowns to maintain efficiency.
• Coordinate manpower and leave management.

• Utilise SAP/Maintwiz for material issuance, spares tracking and work order closure.
• Perform inspection as per SMS/EMS/QMS and keep records.
• Generate shift reports and communicate to block in charge.
• Ensure daily checklists, logbooks and CLRI as required.
• Support CAPA implementation and CAPEX procurement where needed.
• Oversee safety permits and LOTO for maintenance tasks.
• Operate DCS for maintenance activities and interpret drawings.

Job description

JD for Shift Lead – Engineering (Mechanical/Electircal)

• Attending line breakdowns to maintain efficiency.
• Manpower handling and leave management.
• Executing the Preventive & predictive maintenance as per schedule and maintaining records.
• Adherence to SAP workflow for engineering (Issuance of material from stores, maintaining spares & consumables list & closure of notification/work orders using Maintwiz & SAP).
• Executing the inspection as per SMS / EMS/QMS and maintaining records.
• Report generation and communicating to the relevant block in charge – Shift report.
• Implementation and ensuring daily checklist, logbook & CLRI of the machine are filled.
• Coordinating with the shift representative for prioritization of the jobs with mobilization and giving fast solution.
• Safety work permit and LOTO for the job.
• DCS operation for maintenance activity and manual intervention.
• Drawing understanding and execution as per available drawing.
• Providing inputs for breakdown analysis and support in implementation of CAPA.
• Knowledge of operation & troubleshooting of utilities like Boiler, compressor, chiller, nitrogen plant, thermic fluid heater, cooling tower, DM water plant, Material handling equipment’s, well aware of all type of pump and its maintenance, actuator valve, 2 way valve etc. packing & processing equipment used in paints manufacturing industry.
• Support team for capex execution & procurement.
• Basic understanding of engineering standards.
• Active participation in 5S, Kaizen, SPC, SFC, SSR savings, MDT, DOR, SBT, safety and energy saving initiative etc.
