Job summary

River is a Bengaluru-based design company building multi-utility products with a team of over 1000 professionals. We are seeking a seasoned maintenance engineer to oversee battery and vehicle assembly line equipment, driving preventive and predictive maintenance programs and reducing downtime across production lines.

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or BE in Automotive/EV OEMs, strong PLC/HMI skills (Siemens/Mitsubishi), robot programming with Epson and Amada systems, SAP S/4HANA

Qualifications

• Diploma (6+ years) or BE (4+ years) in Automobile or EV OEM industries.
• Advanced PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting using Siemens and Mitsubishi systems.
• Programming and troubleshooting for Epson robots, plus targeted diagnostics on Amada welding robots.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Maintenance Module for asset and work order management.
• In-depth knowledge and practical expertise in hydraulic and pneumatic circuit design and troubleshooting.
• Maintenance and operational experience with industrial conveyors and number punching machines.
• Preparation, maintenance, and compliance for ISO 9001:2015 quality management audits.
• Proven track record in Kaizen implementation and horizontal deployment across production lines.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute plans to ensure efficient operation of battery and vehicle assembly line equipment.
• Develop preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies.
• Plan and execute patrolling maintenance checks to identify potential issues.
• Inspect equipment, monitor performance and implement short-term and permanent countermeasures.
• Diagnose problems and perform repairs according to production needs.
• Replace parts or perform adjustments and other corrective actions.
• Analyze failures and implement countermeasures based on severity.
• Train maintenance staff to scale troubleshooting and reduce downtime.
• Plan preventive maintenance schedule monthly, weekly and daily per annual plan.
• Plan weekly checks for critical equipment; update checkpoints based on past failures.
• Coordinate with production and other departments to align goals.
• Maintain records and logs of maintenance activities and performance.
• Maintain failure history with analyses and implementation proofs.
• Prepare machine-wise spare parts matrix and ensure ABC-based procurement.
• Manage inventory levels to keep essential components available.

Key Responsibilities

• You are responsible for creating and executing plans to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of battery assembly line and Vehicle assembly line equipment, machinery and conveyors
• This involves developing strategies for preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance and improvements to kill the phenomena
• Plan and execute the patrolling maintenance checks to identify any potential issues or equipment failures that may disrupt the productivity
• This includes inspecting equipment machinery and conveyors, monitoring performance and plan to implement short term countermeasure and permanent countermeasure
• When the equipment fails or malfunctions, You need to diagnose the problem and implement repairs according to the production situation
• This may involve replacing parts or performing adjustments or other corrective measures
• All failures need to be properly analyzed and countermeasures to be implemented based on the severity of the failures
• Train your maintenance associates to scale up their troubleshooting skills to minimize the downtime & increase the machine up time
• Need to plan and execute the preventive maintenance schedule monthly, weekly and daily plans as per the annual maintenance plan to minimize the downtime
• Plan and execute weekly checks for the critical equipment and upkeep the check points based on the past failures
• You may need to collaborate with other departments and relevant stakeholders to ensure that their plans and align with the department goals and objectives
• This might involve coordinating with with production teams to minimize disruptions and increase the machine uptime
• Maintaining accurate records and documenting all maintenance activities, including maintenance schedules, repair logs and equipment performance
• Maintain failure history of all the equipment with proper analysis and counter measure report with implementation proofs
• Prepare the machine wise spare parts matrix with sufficient details
• Need to ensure the spare parts are ordered based on the ABC criteria and track the delivery schedules of spare parts
• Maintain inventory levels so that necessary components are available when needed
