Job summary

Tata Advanced Systems Limited is seeking an experienced maintenance engineer to safeguard production equipment and utilities. You will perform preventive and breakdown maintenance, monitor KPIs, and ensure safety compliance across electrical and mechanical systems.

The role requires hands-on expertise in PLC, 3-phase electricals, and troubleshooting of hydraulic presses and vacuum systems, with a focus on minimizing downtime and improving equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on production machines and utilities.
• Ensure electrical safety, EHS compliance, and LOTO practices.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs, MTBF/MTTR, and downtime; prepare MIS reports.

Job description

To ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of production machines, utilities, and electrical systems, ensuring maximum equipment availability, safety, and operational efficiency.

• Knowledge of PLC systems and basic automation troubleshooting
• Experience in hydraulic press maintenance
• Knowledge of Band Saw machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience in Bosch Vacuum Pump operation, maintenance, and fault diagnosis.
• Strong understanding of 3-phase electrical systems, motors, drives, and industrial ovens.
• Expertise in vacuum line inspection, troubleshooting, and leak detection.
• Knowledge of LT Panel operation, electrical fault finding, and corrective maintenance.
• Experience in Diesel Generator (DG) operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Understanding of switchgear room operation, safety practices, and electrical isolation procedures
• Strong electrical maintenance and troubleshooting skills for industrial equipment.
• Experience in audit preparation and compliance activities (ISO, IATF, Safety audits).
• Ability to prepare and maintain maintenance process flow documents, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Knowledge of calibration management, including calibration planning, record maintenance, and coordination with certified agencies.
• Experience in AMC management, vendor coordination, and service follow-up.
• Ability to monitor, analyze, and present machine breakdown data and maintenance KPIs.
• Knowledge of MTBF, MTTR, OEE, and downtime analysis.
• Experience in preparing maintenance MIS reports and dashboards
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and control circuits.
• Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance practices.
• Good root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commitment to EHS compliance, LOTO procedures, and workplace safety.
• Knowledge of VFDs, sensors, HMI, and industrial automation systems.
• Experience in machine installation, commissioning, and relocation activities.
• Ability to work independently and handle emergency breakdown situations effectively
• Good communication, teamwork, and coordination skills with production and utility teams
• Self-motivated, proactive, and result-oriented approach
• Ability to train operators on basic machine care and autonomous maintenance activities
