Job summary

JSW Steel in India seeks a Diploma‑trained Mechanical technician to lead maintenance activities across rotating and static equipment. You will perform preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance, conduct condition monitoring, and coordinate with area teams to ensure safe, reliable operation.

You will maintain equipment histories, drive reliability improvements, and use SAP PM to manage work orders and data analysis, ensuring compliance with safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance.
• Experience with preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Execute and supervise preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities for equipment within the assigned area.
• Conduct regular inspection and condition monitoring of rotary and static equipment, piping and ducting.
• Ensure timely corrective action for identified equipment abnormalities in coordination with the Area Manager and concerned departments.
• Create, process, and close maintenance work orders in SAP PM; maintain equipment history and support reliability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Execute and supervise preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities

for equipment within the assigned area.

• Ø Conduct regular inspection and condition monitoring of rotary and static equipment, piping and ducting.
• Ø Ensure timely corrective action for identified equipment abnormalities in coordination with the Area Manager and concerned departments.
• Ø Effective execution of maintenance activities with proper utilization of work force, tools and spares while adhering to all safety and maintenance standards

Educational Background And Work Experience

Education: Diploma – Mechanical

Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years in mechanical maintenance

Competencies

• Exposure in maintenance of belt conveyors, screens, fans, blowers, compressors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, piping and ducting and Dedusting systems.
• Expertise in preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance practices.
• Strong understanding of equipment condition monitoring and reliability engineering.
• Knowledge of pumps, compressors, fans, gearboxes, conveyors, and other rotating equipment.
• Knowledge of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, piping, valves and other static equipment.
• Competence in equipment alignment, balancing, lubrication and vibration analysis.
• Strong knowledge of process safety and gas safety.
• Small Knowledge of TQM, RCA, Kaizen, 5S and continuous improvement.
• Create, process, and close maintenance work orders in SAP PM.
• Maintain equipment history and support reliability improvement initiatives through SAP data analysis.
