Service Engineer – Installation, Commissioning, Test Systems

Job summary

Jobtailor in Chennai region seeks an experienced Electrical/Instrumentation/Mechatronics engineer for field service and commissioning roles at automotive tire test facilities. You will analyze disturbances, install and commission tire test beds, and train customer personnel.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of hands-on experience with OEMs, PLCs, hydraulics and pneumatics, and a strong focus on safety and ISO 17025 compliance. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics.
• Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on experience.
• Experience in application, commissioning, or service engineering with automotive driveline OEMs and the tire industry.
• PLC programming and troubleshooting of electrical systems, PLCs, and drives, including Siemens TIA Portal, RA, and Beckhoff.
• Troubleshooting of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting tire test beds and automation systems.
• Knowledge of high-voltage safety procedures, risk assessments, PPE usage, and relevant industry standards/regulations, including UN 38.3 and ISO 17025.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to diagnose complex battery issues.
• Professional attitude and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities
