Job summary

Harita Techserv in Bengaluru seeks a Supplier Development professional to identify, onboard, and manage supplier relationships across manufacturing domains. You will collect RFIs, coordinate NDAs/SOWs, and drive cost analyses to support negotiations and supplier qualification.

The role requires 5–7 years in supplier development or related fields, with a strong background in APQP/PPAP, ERP systems, and quality management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required; MBA preferred.
  • 5–7 years of experience in supplier development, sourcing, or manufacturing engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers based on capability, capacity, quality, and competitiveness.
  • Collect and validate supplier information through RFIs and documentation.
  • Coordinate NDAs and SOWs with prospective suppliers.
  • Prepare RFQ packages and manage supplier communications for quotations.
  • Lead commercial negotiations using cost analysis and should-cost methods.
  • Drive supplier qualification activities including audits and PPAP approvals.
  • Maintain supplier development dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Quality, and Project teams throughout product development.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers based on technical capability, manufacturing capacity, quality systems, commercial competitiveness, revenue, export capability, and customer portfolio.
  • Collect and validate supplier information through category-specific RFI documentation.
  • Coordinate execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) and Statements of Work (SOW) with prospective suppliers.
  • Prepare RFQ packages, manage supplier communications, and ensure timely receipt of competitive quotations.
  • Support and lead commercial negotiations using cost analysis, benchmarking, and should-cost methodologies.
  • Drive commercial agreement discussions through successful execution.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with regulatory, ethical, sustainability, environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Conduct supplier risk assessments covering capacity, financial stability, operational capability, and geopolitical risks.
  • Collaborate closely with Procurement, Category Management, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Lead supplier qualification activities including capability assessments, supplier audits, prototype development, APQP, and PPAP approvals.
  • Maintain supplier development dashboards, qualification records, audit documentation, and supplier performance metrics.
Technical Competencies
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including Casting, Machining, Heat Exchangers, Plastics, Wire Harness, and related commodity groups.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management processes, Procurement Operations, Incoterms, and Global Logistics.
  • Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems such as ISO and IATF.
  • Practical experience in APQP, PPAP, Supplier Audits, Capability Assessments, and Supplier Qualification.
  • Experience in cost analysis, should-cost modelling, value engineering, and commercial negotiations.
  • Knowledge of supplier risk management methodologies.
  • Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Familiarity with Windchill, Creo, and supplier performance dashboards is preferred.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • MBA in Supply Chain Management or related discipline is preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Supplier Development, Vendor Development, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Quality, or Manufacturing Engineering.
