Chandigarh Location-local Candidate only

Support Operations: Server tuning and troubleshooting, Shell scripting, troubleshooting batch job issues

Must Have Skills:

· Experience in installation, configuration, administration and monitoring of Linux/Windows servers

· Ability to create scripts for batch jobs and should be able to diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to the same

· Should be able to work in 24*7 shifts

Required Skills:

· Good oral and written communication skills

· Understanding of ITIL framework and support center operations

· Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks at the same time

Systems Engineer will join the HBG Operations and will be responsible for Linux / Windows Server. He/She will monitor large computer networks and servers for problems from a central location and will perform Level 2 and Level 3 troubleshooting and incident response on the system, communicate with site technicians and track problems through to resolution. Additionally, the candidate will also provide day to day support to the client and will escalate the issues to the next level as required.

Key Responsibilities:

· Should have strong OS administration skills on Linux and Windows

· Experience in installation, patch management, configuration, administration and monitoring of Linux servers

· Volume Manager Administration Network OS / SW installation

· Patches, Server Hardening Tasks, User Administration, Access control

· Batch processing and support, including provision of periodic weekend / on-call support

· Understanding of streaming and batch process with understanding of data in transit and data at rest

· Strong Linux background with good experience with batch processing and Oracle

· Linux Heart Beat Clustering

· Should know how to debug/troubleshoot memory issues

· Track system issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits

· Hands-on experience of system management, system setup and managing Linux or Solaris based servers as well as configuring them

· Communicate clearly and professionally with all internal and external customers

· Identify recurring issues and escalate appropriately for permanent resolution
