Job summary

Speed Global is seeking an experienced sensor development engineer in Pune to lead and support the design of Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) and related sensors. You will translate customer requirements into robust technical solutions, define project scope, and drive timely delivery with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in electronics, instrumentation or equivalent.
• 3–6 years of hands-on sensor development experience.
• Experience with EGT, TBAP or TMAP sensors in automotive/industrial domains.
• Solid understanding of electronics, sensor tech and product development.
• Hands-on with test equipment and reading schematics/diagrams.
• Familiar with DFMEA/PFMEA, validation tests and failure analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support EGT/ sensor development efforts and translate customer needs into technical solutions.
• Define project scope, objectives and required technical delivarables with minimal supervision.
• Lead sensor development projects and ensure timely delivery via project management.
• Coordinate milestones, risk assessments, and stakeholder communications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers and customers for execution.
• Review technical documentation and provide support to internal/external customers.
• Apply 7-step/8D problem-solving to investigate design/process issues.
• Interpret system drawings, schematics and validation requirements.
• Prepare DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R and validation/analysis reports.
• Monitor progress and report status to leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support development of Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) and pressure sensors (TBAP and TMAP).
• Analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate sensor solutions.
• Define project scope, objectives, and technical requirements with minimal supervision.
• Lead sensor development and modification projects, ensuring timely delivery through effective project management.
• Manage project milestones, risk assessment, mitigation plans, escalations, and stakeholder communication.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to drive project execution.
• Conduct technical reviews and provide support to internal and external customers.
• Investigate design and process-related issues using 7-Step/8D problem-solving methodologies.
• Interpret system drawings, electronic schematics, and validation requirements.
• Analyze, review and prepare sensor design related technical documentation, including DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, validation reports and analysis reports.
• Monitor project progress and communicate status updates to leadership teams.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

• Qualification - B.E. / B-Tech Electronics, Instrumentation, or equivalent engineering discipline.
• Experience Range – 3 to 6 Years
• Experience with Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT), TBAP, TMAP, or similar automotive/industrial sensors.
• Strong understanding of electronics, sensor technologies, and product development processes.
• Hands-on experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, power meters, and DC power supplies.
• Ability to interpret electronic schematics, system drawings, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, validation testing, and failure analysis processes.
• Strong project management, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Experience in root cause analysis using 7-Step and/or 8D methodologies.
• Excellent communication, documentation, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
