Job summary

India Nippon Electricals in Bengaluru is seeking a skilled Sensor Hardware Design Engineer to lead component selection, circuit design, and PCB layout for advanced sensor applications.

You will collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, and validation teams to ensure timely hardware deliverables, perform DFMEA, define test plans, and optimize costs through VA/VE activities.

Qualifications

• 3-8 years of experience in Sensor Hardware Design and Development with expertise in Component Selection, Circuit Designing, and PCB Layout.
• Strong understanding of Sensors and their applications in various industries.
• Proficiency in BOM preparation using specialized software tools such as Altium Designer or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performing SRS/Design input review and concept design.
• Working with sensor element suppliers and chose the right sensor element for different sensor application. Work with purchase team for costing of the sensor elements and other child parts.
• Performing related DFMEA/design calculation/analysis/simulation and defining circuit & components.
• Sensor HW development and ensuring of timely deliverable of HW design documentation(Schematics, BOM, Gerber data, etc).
• Defining product testing and validation plans based on requirement of the product both on the test rig and the vehicle.
• Defining environmental and electrical validation plan including EMI/EMC. Co-ordinating with validation team to carry out the validation.
• Monitoring proto board assembly & tests carried out on the proto ensuring proper functionality.
• Carrying out DFM activity co ordination with MFG and process team to define effective manufacturing process.
• HW trouble shooting for any HW failure and performing root cause analysis.
• Defining case, terminal diagram/ wiring harness diagram and other supporting parts with relevant safety mechanism.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, product management and manufacturing operations for Develop and support integration of electronic and electrical systems.
• Ensure availability of proto parts with test reports for the customer and internal activities as per project milestones.
• Carry out VA/VE activities for cost optimization.
