Job summary

Jobtailor in India is seeking a senior Network/Systems Administrator to oversee campus network infra, design and implement virtual environments on VMware, and maintain ESXi/vCenter.

You will troubleshoot hardware and software, manage patching via WSUS, and ensure secure, reliable network operations across servers and security appliances.

The role demands 8–12 years of experience, relevant certifications, and hands‑on expertise with Cisco/HP switching and backup solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in IT required or equivalent.
• MCSE, VMware Certified, CCNA or equivalent certifications preferred.
• 8–12 years of experience in server/network/system administration.
• Solid experience in network administration and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for network infrastructure over scope sites in the organization
• Design/capacity planning, implementation, administration and support of virtual environment on VM platform
• Design and implement new network solutions and improve the efficiency of current networks
• Configure and install network appliance for upgrading and maintaining the network
• Hands‑on experience designing and building physical servers, installing, configuring, and patching ESXi
• Troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware and systems to resolve operational issues and restore services
• Provide regular support of VMware and Windows environment by resolving escalated tickets for internal and external customers
• Hands‑on knowledge configuring VM networks in VMware (VLANs, VLAN IDs, network teaming, etc.)
• Manage ESX and vCenter patches and VMware tools versions
• Good understanding of routing, switching, and firewalls
• Design, set up and configure switching for HP and CISCO environments; integrate Veeam backup with VM technologies for backup and recovery
• Excellent knowledge of configuring, tuning, maintaining, and monitoring Windows Server 2016/2019 Enterprise servers
• Strong hands‑on experience in security and non‑security patch remediation on a large scale of Windows server environment through WSUS
• Antivirus solution management, policy creation, deployment, database backup, and troubleshooting
• Understanding of vulnerability management and penetration testing

Requirements
