Job summary

Jobsoid Inc. is seeking an experienced Vertical Transportation Design & Planning professional to provide technical design and consultancy for elevators, escalators, and related systems across diverse building projects in India.

You will develop strategies, perform lift traffic analyses, review layouts, and coordinate with architects, engineers and contractors to ensure compliant, efficient solutions. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of vertical transportation consultancy/design experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of lift/escalator systems and relevant standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop vertical transportation strategies and concepts based on project requirements.

Job description

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Vertical Transportation Design & Planning to join our team. The role involves providing technical design and consultancy services for elevators, escalators, and other vertical transportation systems across various building projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop vertical transportation strategies and concepts based on project requirements, building usage, occupancy and applicable codes.
• Perform traffic analysis and lift traffic calculations to determine the appropriate number, capacity and speed of elevators.
• Prepare and review elevator and escalator layouts, specifications and design documentation.
• Coordinate vertical transportation requirements with architectural, structural, MEP and other engineering disciplines.
• Review and evaluate lift/escalator proposals, technical submissions, drawings and specifications from manufacturers and contractors.
• Prepare technical specifications, tender documents and equipment schedules.
• Provide technical support during tendering, vendor evaluation and contractor selection.
• Attend project coordination meetings and provide technical recommendations to clients, consultants and project teams.
• Review shop drawings, material submissions and technical documents for compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct site inspections and assist with installation, testing and commissioning where required.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable Indian Standards, international standards, local regulations and project-specific requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and client deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, developers, contractors, manufacturers and other stakeholders.
• Support business development activities by providing technical inputs, project estimates and consultancy proposals.
• Stay updated with developments in elevator technology, energy efficiency, accessibility, safety requirements and vertical transportation standards.

Preferred Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in vertical transportation design/consultancy.
• Experience working on commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, retail or mixed-use projects will be an advantage.
• Good understanding of relevant lift and escalator codes and standards.
• Experience coordinating with elevator manufacturers and contractors.
• Strong technical communication and report-writing skills.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Relevant experience in vertical transportation consultancy will be given preference.
