Job description

WSP India is currently seeking a Senior BIM Technician to join our Bridges team located at our Bengaluru office. This role will work as part of WSP GCC Sweden as part of the BIM team and will produce detailed structural drawings in Tekla Structures – Concrete, AutoCAD and/or Microstation if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of Engineering Drawings using WSP CAD/BIM Standards and Templates.
• Agree priorities & deadlines with Sweden Team, organize work to ensure timely delivery.
• Align work with Quality requirements and maintain Document Control for all work.
• Proactively raise queries, identify necessary inputs from others & follow up.
• Develop templates and libraries for CAD/BIM work.
• Work under the supervision of Principal Engineer or Principal BIM Modeler.
• Prepare structural detailed and concept design drawings for various bridges and construction types to be built predominantly in Sweden.
• Responsible for BIM and CAD standards, implementation, and enforcement.
• Create and maintain software template files to assure standards.
• Automate routines to support standards and productivity.
• Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all drawings produced.
• Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow process standards.
• Maximize utilization on projects.
• Create Tekla Structures auto and customized connections and templates in response to project requirements.
• Agree priorities and deadlines for drawing production through liaison with the Project Engineer and Sweden team.
• Exhibit cultural awareness, conscientiousness, an open mind and excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrate high self‑motivation and ability to motivate others.
• Work under pressure and with minimum supervision.
• Have 3D reinforcement expertise in Tekla Structures – Concrete.
• Have knowledge of Revit Software, particularly in 3D reinforcement, as an added advantage.

Key Skills

• Mandatory: Diploma in CAD or Bachelor’s Degree.
• Desired: Competence in Tekla Structures – Concrete/AutoCAD/Cad RC.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in CAD with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional registration such as EngTech with ICE, UK or close to attaining the same is desirable.
