Job summary

WSP India is hiring a Principal BIM Technician for the Bridges Department, based in Mumbai/Noida. You will deliver detailed bridge and structural drawings for Canadian projects, leading BIM/CAD production and QA, and collaborating with engineers and the Canada client team to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.

The role involves working on a range of projects from repairs to large-scale constructions, expanding expertise in REVIT, MicroStation and related tools while upholding WSP India CAD/BIM

Qualifications

• Diploma CAD with at least 14 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in a similar role is required.
• Competence in AutoCAD/Revit/SofiSTIK BIM/Micro Station/RCD/CIVIL 3D.

Responsibilities

• Lead project setup by drawing strategy and numbering with the project engineer.
• Manage production of work to WSP CAD/BIM standards and propose revisions.
• Use templates and CAD library items to assist design work and lead production of templates.
• Coordinate with the Project Engineer and Canada Client team to set priorities and deadlines.
• Coordinate engineering services to ensure timely inputs and reviewed outputs.
• Ensure work adheres to QA, document control, archiving and CDM guidelines.
• Review drawings to identify unbuildable or conflicting details and missing information.
• Raise RFIs and maintain a log of open queries.
• Maintain dialogue with Project Engineer and Canada client team.
• Document development of skills in REVIT, MicroStation, Civil 3D and ASD.

Job Description

WSP India is currently seeking a Principal BIM Technician to join our Bridges Department, located at our Mumbai/Noida office. This position will be responsible for the delivery of producing detailed bridge and structural drawings for various Canadian projects, including bridges, LRT components, retaining walls, and other related structures. The successful candidate will be expected to handle complex projects, and prioritize effectively and Passionate about bridges and eager to put CAD/BIM skills to good use

As Principal BIM Technician - Bridges at GCC, you will play a crucial role in our design and development process. Will work closely with our team of engineers and also work along with BIM team to create detailed technical drawings and plans for a variety of bridge projects. Ability to use CAD/BIM software and understanding of bridge design principles will be essential to success in this role.

In addition to creating and revising detailed drawings, you will also be responsible for collaborating with the engineering team to ensure that designs are accurate and comply with industry standards. Opportunities shall be provided to work on a wide range of projects, from small-scale bridge repairs to large-scale bridge constructions, allowing for to expand and refine the skills in the bridge discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead project set up by agreeing drawing strategy, type and size of drawings and drawing numbering with project engineer, and suggesting methods of drawing production to ensure efficient methods of working.


• Manage production of work, review and ensure it is carried out to specified WSP I CAD standards, suggest revisions to standards as appropriate.


• Use templates for CAD/BIM work and use CAD/BIM library items to assist design work lead the production of Templates and Library Items.


• Agree priorities and deadlines for drawing production through liaison with the Project Engineer and Canada Client team


• Co-ordination of engineering services on projects to sure that the correct inputs are received timely and the outputs are issued after full review.


• Ensure that work produced by the team is to specified WSP CAD/BIM standards, suggest revisions to standards as appropriate


• Use templates for CAD/BIM work and use CAD/BIM library items to assist design work


• Ensure that all work produced by the team follows QA, document control, archiving & CDM guidelines


• Co-ordination of engineering services on projects to sure that the correct inputs are received timely and the outputs are issued after full review.


• Review engineer’s sketches and other design team member drawings and details with a view to querying any unbuildable / conflicting details or missing information.


• Raise and follow up requests for information; maintain a log of open queries


• Maintain regular dialogue with Project Engineer and Canada client Team


• Ensure that the development of skills in REVIT, Micro station, Civil 3D and ASD is documented


• Be responsible for the sharing of knowledge with immediate colleagues and the rest of the GCC


• Ensure that all new skills learnt are documented and available for new starters to the team.


• Proactively support the WSP India CAD / BIM forums.


• Plan and prepare standard details for repetitive or small / routine work.


• Plan and produce templates and CAD library items to assist design work.


• Exchange information and share libraries and details with Canada and other GCC teams inclusive.

Qualifications
