Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create and manage Tekla Structures 3D models for structural steel projects with accuracy and code compliance.
• Prepare GA drawings, shop drawings and erection plans.
• Identify and resolve clashes within models before fabrication.
• Coordinate with design engineers, detailers, and PMs to resolve technical queries.
• Review models and drawings prepared by junior modelers for accuracy.
• Mentor and guide junior modelers and enforce modeling standards.
• Maintain project documentation and version control.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Tekla Modeler to create, manage, and review detailed 3D models for structural steel projects using Tekla Structures. The ideal candidate combines strong technical modeling skills with the ability to coordinate across teams and mentor junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and manage detailed Tekla Structures 3D models for structural steel projects, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project specifications and applicable codes
• Prepare and coordinate general arrangement (GA) drawings, shop drawings, and erection plans
• Identify and resolve clashes within models before issue for fabrication
• Collaborate with design engineers, detailers, and project managers to resolve technical queries and design issues
• Review models and drawings prepared by junior modelers for accuracy and completeness
• Mentor and guide junior modelers, sharing best practices and technical know-how
• Implement and maintain modeling standards, templates, and workflows
• Maintain organized project documentation, revision logs, and model version control
• Coordinate with fabrication and erection teams to ensure model output supports downstream processes
• Track project timelines and flag risks to delivery schedules

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Tekla Structures modeling for structural steel projects
• Strong understanding of structural steel detailing principles, connections, and fabrication/erection processes
• Familiarity with relevant structural steel OSHA codes and AISC standards
• Experience with clash detection and coordination tools
• Proven ability to lead/mentor a team of modelers
• Strong communication skills to liaise with engineers, detailers, and PMs
• Good understanding of GA drawings, shop drawings, and erection drawing sets
