- Own the end-to-end technical SEO roadmap across a large-scale, multi-market e-commerce platform with complex category structures, faceted navigation, filters, pagination and 100K+ indexable and non-indexable URLs.
- Lead complex technical investigations covering crawlability, renderability, indexation, canonicalisation, internal linking, duplicate content, URL parameters, soft 404s, orphan pages and search-engine discovery.
- Analyse raw HTML, rendered DOM, HTTP responses, JavaScript behaviour and browser/network activity to diagnose SSR, CSR, hydration and dynamic-rendering issues across modern frameworks such as React, Angular and Vue.
- Design and govern robots.txt, canonical, noindex, pagination and faceted-navigation rules that protect crawl efficiency while preserving valuable category and product demand.
- Use log-file analysis and crawl data to identify wasted bot activity, crawl traps, under-crawled templates and high-value pages that are not being discovered or refreshed efficiently.
- Lead source-level technical remediation with engineering teams, ensuring recurring issues are resolved through platform or template fixes rather than URL-by-URL workarounds.
- Own structured-data strategy and implementation across Product, Offer, Breadcrumb, Organization, LocalBusiness and other relevant schema types; write, debug and validate JSON-LD directly.
- Drive Core Web Vitals and page-experience improvements, translating LCP, INP and CLS findings into technically clear, prioritised actions for developers, product teams and third-party vendors.
- Lead technical SEO for migrations, redesigns, replatforming and major releases, including discovery, requirements, redirect mapping, pre-launch validation, UAT, launch governance and post-launch monitoring.
- Own international SEO architecture across markets and languages, including hreflang, market targeting, ccTLD/subfolder decisions, localisation signals and cross-market duplication risks.
- Investigate and resolve critical incidents such as sudden deindexation, ranking loss, crawl spikes, robots or canonical errors, title/H1 rendering failures, GSC removal cascades and migration regressions.
- Build automated monitoring and alerting for technical regressions using GSC, crawl data, analytics, rank-tracking and platform diagnostics.
- Quantify technical issues by affected URLs, templates, markets, traffic, revenue risk and implementation effort, then convert findings into a clear business-prioritised backlog.
- Define acceptance criteria and validation methods for every major recommendation, and verify implementations independently before closing actions.
- Act as the senior technical SEO authority for stakeholders across SEO, Engineering, Product, UX, Content, Analytics and Commercial teams.
- Set the technical SEO vision and establish clear standards, governance and quality controls across all markets and development workstreams.
- Influence product and engineering roadmaps by connecting technical SEO priorities to organic traffic, conversion, revenue and customer experience.
- Communicate complex technical findings clearly to senior stakeholders, with decisive recommendations rather than unprioritised issue lists.
- Challenge incomplete or incorrect implementations, escalade material risks early and maintain accountability through to resolution.
- Mentor SEO team members and raise the technical capability of the wider team through practical reviews, documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Support pitches, audits and strategic client conversations where senior technical credibility is required.
