CloudLex - The Legal Cloud in Pune is seeking an experienced HR Leader to recruit for both tech and services divisions and to build an in-house HR team. You will own end-to-end recruitment, campus hiring, onboarding, appraisals, resignations, and statutory compliance, reporting to CEO interim while department scales.

You bring 5–8 years HR experience, at least 3 years leading a team, hands-on recruitment, and practical use of AI tools to streamline processes.

Pune, India · Work from office · Leads a team of Junior HR Generalists

CloudLex is a leading cloud based legal technology platform for litigation firms in the United States. Headquartered in New York, with engineering, product, and marketing in Pune, India. We run two centers in India. The technology division is in Pune., MH. The services division is in Jabalpur, MP. This role covers both. ~100 in Pune and ~200 in Jabalpur.

Your Role

Run recruitment for both divisions

• Plan roles and budget with the business leaders in tech and services dvision
• Manage the entirerecruitment process from sourcing to onboardig
• Run the offer stage: negotiate, issue the letter, start background verification, and close
• Manage recruitment consultants where you use them, including fees and quality

Run campus recruitment for Pune and Jabalpur

• Build and maintain the list of target institutes for both cities, with a named contact at each
• Call and visit placement officers, and build the relationship before you need the slot
• Negotiate placement dates and slots, and get on the calendar early enough to matter
• Organize pre-placement talks end to end, including panel, travel, material, and logistics
• Run the on-campus test and interview process on the day
• Run the internship program operationally, from intake through the pre-placement offer decision
• Organize hackathons and campus events, including budget, vendors, and the people who will attend

Lead a team of HR Generalists

• Set weekly priorities and run a weekly review on open positions
• Coach them on screening, on closing candidates, and on the conversations they find hard
• Review their work rather than assume it, especially on offer letters and candidate communication
• Spend time at Jabalpur Service Center in person on a regular basis, including short stints. The company pays for it

Run the employee lifecycle

• Run onboarding: documentation, induction schedule, asset and system access coordinated with IT, and a first week that is planned before the person arrives
• Run the appraisal cycle end to end: calendar, forms, manager chasing, normalization discussions, and letters out on schedule
• Handle resignations, run exit interviews, and coordinate full and final settlement
• Keep HRMS records, leave data, and personnel files accurate for both offices
• Coordinate statutory requirements such as provident fund and state insurance with the finance team

On experience, read this carefully

• 5 to 8 years in HR
• Of which at least 3 years must be spent directly managing a team, with people reporting to you and their performance your responsibility
• Total years in the profession is not the measure. We will ask who reported to you, for how long, what you were accountable for, and what you did when one of them was not performing

Must have

• Hands-on recruitment ownership, not oversight of a process somebody else ran
• Campus recruitment you can evidence: institutes, programs, numbers
• Experience hiring for more than one kind of role. This job is technical hiring and operations hiring both
• Practical use of AI tools in your own work. Not awareness. Use
• Appraisal and lifecycle processes run end to end
• Experience managing people you do not sit with every day
• Working knowledge of an HRMS and of Indian statutory requirements
• Clear written and spoken English, and the confidence to hold a position with senior leadership

Compensation

Fixed compensation of 9 LPA to 14 LPA depending on experience

Based in Pune, work from office

Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer inthe interim. As we build the department we will seek senior leadership at director and vice president level
