Job summary

DHL IT Services in Indore invites a Senior System Support Specialist – Senior (Linux Services) to join our global Linux Services team. You will provide 2nd-level Linux support across on‑prem and cloud platforms, work with international teams, and contribute to automation and cost efficiency.

The role requires 8+ years in Linux administration, cloud familiarity (Azure/GCP/AWS), HA/clustering, scripting (Bash, Python, Ansible), and hands‑on container tech (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Podman).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on Linux system administration in enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with Azure, AWS or GCP and clustering/high-availability.

Responsibilities

• Providing 2nd-level support for Linux server technologies, virtualization, and clustering.
• Acting as a subject matter expert for OS-level issues, service failures, and performance bottlenecks.
• Supporting and tuning high availability and clustering solutions.
• Participating in global infrastructure and transformation projects.
• Collaborating with internal teams and technology vendors.
• Automating operational tasks using Bash, Python or Ansible.
• Supporting hybrid cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS).
• Participating in rotational on-call support.

In this role, you will support Linux-based systems across on‑premises data centers and cloud platforms, providing 2nd‑level incident, problem, and vendor escalation support. You will work closely with global teams, participate in infrastructure projects, and help drive automation, standardization, and cost efficiency.

Your role includes:

• Providing 2nd‑level support for Linux server technologies, virtualization, and clustering

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience

• 8+ years of hands‑on Linux system administration experience
• Strong experience in enterprise infrastructure or data center environments
• Familiarity with at least one cloud platform: Azure, GCP, or AWS
• Experience with clustering / high availability solutions
• Knowledge of containers and platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, or Podman is a plus
• Good understanding of networking concepts and firewalls
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, Ansible)
• Interest in using AI tools to improve automation and operational efficiency
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a global, multicultural environment
• Knowledge of ITIL, ServiceNow, or change management is an advantage
