Job summary

Maersk in India is seeking a Senior Supervisor - Operations to manage day-to-day warehouse activities, lead supervisors and teams, and drive productivity, quality, and safety while meeting customer SLAs.

The role covers inbound/outbound, inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and cost targets, with coaching to enhance performance and support training and recruitment initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience in warehouse and logistics operations is essential.
  • Professional certifications in Supply Chain/Logistics are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily inbound, outbound, inventory, returns, and VAS operations.
  • Ensure timely receipt, putaway, picking, packing, dispatch, and order fulfillment.
  • Monitor KPIs and achieve customer SLAs.
  • Ensure optimal use of space, equipment and manpower.
  • Lead and supervise supervisors, team leaders, and associates; conduct briefings and reviews.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and manpower deployment; coach and mentor.
  • Support recruitment, induction and training activities.
  • Act as primary operational contact for customers and stakeholders.

Position: Senior Supervisor - Operations

The Senior Supervisor - Operations is responsible for managing day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring achievement of productivity, quality, inventory accuracy, customer service, safety, and cost targets. The role involves leading a team of supervisors, team leaders, operators, and associates while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience
  • 8-10 years of warehouse and logistics operations experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or team management role.
  • Experience handling large-scale warehouse operations and customer-facing accounts.
Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse Operations Management
  • Manage daily inbound, outbound, inventory, returns, and VAS operations.
  • Ensure timely receipt, putaway, picking, packing, dispatch, and order fulfillment.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and ensure achievement of customer SLAs.
  • Ensure optimum utilization of warehouse space, equipment, and manpower.
  • Lead and supervise supervisors, team leaders, and warehouse associates.
  • Conduct daily shift briefings and performance reviews.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, absenteeism, and manpower deployment.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members for enhanced performance.
  • Support recruitment, induction, and training activities.
3. Inventory Management
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical verification.
  • Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor inventory movements and system transactions.
  • Ensure inventory integrity and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Act as the primary operational contact for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide timely updates on operational performance and service issues.
  • Support customer visits, audits, and business reviews.
  • Resolve operational escalations promptly.
5. Performance & Productivity Management
  • Drive productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor throughput, utilization, and efficiency metrics.
  • Ensure achievement of productivity and cost-saving targets.
  • Support automation and process optimization projects.
6. Compliance, Safety & Quality
  • Ensure compliance with Maersk safety policies and statutory requirements.
  • Drive warehouse 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, and customer operating procedures.
  • Support internal, external, and customer audits.
  • Lead Kaizen, Lean, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive reduction in overtime, damages, errors, and waste.
  • Support digital transformation and system enhancement initiatives.
8. Reporting & MIS
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
  • Analyse KPI trends and implement action plans.
  • Present operational performance to management and customers.
  • Ensure timely closure of audit observations and action items.
Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional certifications in Supply Chain/Logistics preferred.
