Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Mumbai is seeking an experienced structural engineer to execute engineering activities and support the design of steel structures and foundations for pipelines and related facilities.

The role involves coordinating with other disciplines, reviewing vendor drawings, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring QA/QC across production drawings. A Civil engineering background with 4–10 years’ experience is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4–10 years of experience in civil/structural engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent; advanced degrees preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute engineering activities for projects.
• Support structural design from concept to detailed design.
• Analyze and design steel structures and foundations for pipelines.
• Prepare structural specifications, design details and calculations for foundations and supports.
• Review drawings and interface with suppliers, clients and other disciplines.
• Coordinate with disciplines to develop clash-free system designs.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Ensure QA/QC and production drawing reviews.
• Maintain effective communication with engineering teams.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Execution of engineering activities.
• Support structural design of projects from the conceptual phase to detailed design phase.
• Analysis and design of structures consisting of steel and foundation design of T&D Pipelines.
• Prepare structural specifications, design details, and calculations for steel, foundations and substructures for Piperack, Pipe support & Cable tray support, tech structures, equipment foundation, building foundations, cooler foundation, skid foundation, transformer foundation, Vessel foundation, etc.
• Review structural, equipment vendor drawings and interface with suppliers, clients and other engineering disciplines.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, client(s) and other stake holder(s) to develop a clash free system design.
• Provide leadership, training and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members.
• Quality review of production drawings for a variety of projects and project related data
• Responsible for QA/QC process adherence
• Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
• All other duties as assigned
