Linxon Chennai, India is seeking a collaborative SCM Engineer to provide procurement expertise for Civil/Subcontract activities on 11kV to 400kV substations and offshore wind tenders. This role blends tender and project work, focused on budgeting, cost reduction, and standard implementations.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineer with 10-15 years minimum experience.
• Knowledge of Transmission or Distribution (11kV to 400kV) Subcontract activities.
• Knowledge of various industry standards in client working.
• Experience with subcontract agreements.
• Experience with international procurement frameworks.
• Proficient in Oracle ERP System.

Responsibilities

• Execute all SCM activities related to Civil/Subcontracts (Strategic Sourcing and Procurement).
• Identify and onboard new subcontractors as per procedures.
• Coordinate with Tendering and Project execution teams for Civil Sourcing.
• Issue RFQs using SAP Ariba procurement platform.

This role sits within our Supply Chain Management team. The purpose of the role is to provide the procurement expertise for the Civil /subcontract services activities for 11kV to 400kV substation and Offshore Wind Tenders and Projects.

This role is both tender and project focused, therefore working to defined budgetary objectives, achieving successful sourcing solutions and implementing them to the full satisfaction of all stakeholders are key to the success of this role. There is also a requirement to be striving for continuous improvement, implementation of standards and drive cost reduction.

We are looking for a collaborative and sharp minded person to:

• Execute all Supply Chain Management (SCM) both Strategic Sourcing and Procurement activities related to Civil /Subcontracts in accordance with the SCM and company procedures.
• Identify and onboard new subcontractors as per company procedures and SCM sourcing strategies.
• Coordinate with Tendering Department and Project execution team with regards to the Civil Strategic Sourcing Activities.
• Issue RFQs (Request for Quotations) using the Linxon Procurement platform (SAP Ariba)
• Obtain / negotiate final prices, deliveries, commercial Terms and Conditions with subcontractors to ensure compliant technical and commercial bids are available.
• Maintaining Raw materials price data base.
• Preparing Civil cost estimate Templates.
• Prepare price comparison tables along with a total cost overview.
• Negotiate and prepare the Subcontract Agreement, division of responsibility and obtaining relevant approvals as per LOA (Levels Of Authority) protocols.

Experience Required:

• Civil Engineer with 10-15 years minimum experience in lieu of qualification.
• Knowledge of Transmission or Distribution (11kV to 400kV) Subcontract activities in UK.
• Knowledge of various industry standards Client working.
• Have good knowledge about subcontract agreements.
• Have a good working knowledge of international procurement frameworks.
• Oracle ERP System
• To have implemented new processes / tools / software and mentored other team members
• Experience of working with multiple stakeholders.
• To come from a high pressured and project driven environment.
• Has built relationships effectively and can challenge the status quo
• Effective communication at all levels.
• Frequent travel may be required inside and outside of the country.
