Job summary

SailPoint is seeking a Software Engineer to join Identity Product Engineering in Pune, working on enterprise identity solutions. You will fix issues, write high-quality code, and collaborate with a team of experienced engineers and support staff to resolve customer-reported problems.

You will develop Java/J2EE and UI components, design REST-based services, and contribute to unit tests. The role involves hybrid work with 2-3 days in the office in Pune.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in enterprise software development, Java/J2EE fluent.

About you and the role:

SailPoint is seeking a S oftware Engineer to join our Feature team s for the Identity product . In this role, you are responsible for increasing the quality of Identity and developing solutions to customer reported issues . You are responsible for writing quality code in addition to debugging complex problems. You will work closely with the broader Engineering team, as well as Support, and occasionally communicate directly with customers to assist in L3 Support escalations. We're looking for candidates with a strong work ethic who can work with a team of very experienced Software Engineers and Testers . Lack of experience in a particular technology/platform is not a showstopper if there is a skill of immediate usefulness, as well as a commitment to continual learning.

Skills

• 12+ years professional experience in developing enterprise software, preferably in a Java/J2EE environment, and demonstrated fluency in Java
• Proven experience developing/designing Java and JavaScript based UI components.
• Experience using JSF, ExtJS , AngularJS, Angular, Bootstrap, jQuery, AJAX, and other J2EE technologies
• Experience in the development and integration of REST-based web services utilizing XML and/or JSON data representations
• Experience with various operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, AIX, Solaris, etc.)
• Experience with SQL and one or more database platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, DB2, etc.)
• Experience with object-relational mapping (ORM) tools, such as Hibernate and MyBatis , is highly desirable
• Experience with one or more web application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, etc.)
• Experience with one or more revision control systems (Git, Subversion, Perforce, CVS, etc.)
• Experience in the development and maintenance of unit tests using a testing framework, such as TestNG and JUnit, is highly desirable
• Proven ability to work with other software development engineers for problem reproduction and resolution
• Proven ability to successfully navigate and relate to varying levels of functional and technical personnel
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Experience with the monitoring/management/deployment of said products is highly desirable
• Experience with IT backend protocols and systems, such as LDAP and Active Directory, is highly desirable

Roadmap to Success:

First 30 Days - Onboarding & Discovery

Set up local test and development environments. Schedule introductory meetings with peers across Engineering and Support. Review documentation on L3 escalation procedures.Deep understanding of the Identity product offering, the Java/J2EE technology stack, and the internal process for handling customer-reported issues.

Days 31-60 - Active Contribution & Debugging

Partner with other developers to reproduce and debug complex customer issues. Begin developing solutions for initial tickets. Contribute to UI components and REST-based web services.Successful transition to hands-on coding, delivering high-quality solutions for customer issues, and seamless collaboration within the Feature team.

Days 61-90 - Independence & Quality Leadership

Independently handle complex L3 escalations and communicate directly with customers. Expand unit testing coverage using frameworks like TestNG/JUnit. Share knowledge with the team.Consistent delivery of quality code, proactive prevention of future escalations through improved test coverage, and establishing oneself as a reliable team expert.
