Job summary

Commonwealth Bank of Australia is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in Bengaluru to own end-to-end delivery of AI-enhanced, agent-driven full-stack systems. You will collaborate with Principal Engineers and AI architects to shape the technical vision and execute across backend Python (FastAPI) and frontend TypeScript (React).

Expect to design AI workflows, integrate APIs, and drive robust testing, security and observability.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with full-stack delivery ownership.
• Strong Python backend development experience using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Experience building AI- and agent-enabled systems, including tool usage, orchestration and API integration.
• Proficiency in TypeScript-based frontend development using React or other modern frameworks.
• Strong commitment to engineering quality, including unit, integration and end-to-end testing practices.
• Experience contributing to development standards, reusable components and engineering best practices.
• Experience designing and building agent workflows, including tool integration and orchestration.
• Strong understanding of LLM integration patterns and AI observability tools.

Responsibilities
