Job summary

GreyOrange is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer - Full Stack to lead architecture, design, and delivery of scalable systems. You will own end-to-end technology choices across backend and frontend, guide microservices, and drive robust data pipelines.

The role requires deep expertise in Java/.NET/Node.js/Go, React/Angular/Vue, and cloud platforms with Kubernetes. You will mentor engineers and influence engineering standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• 11-16 years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong product engineering exposure.
• Proven expertise in full-stack development (backend + frontend).
• Strong experience in system design, distributed systems, and microservices architecture.
• Expertise in backend stacks: Java / Spring Boot, .NET Core, Node.js / Go.
• Expertise in frontend: React.js / Angular / Vue.js.
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and scalable system design.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes, Docker. Messaging systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ).

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of large-scale distributed systems and microservices.
• Own end-to-end system design including backend services, frontend architecture, APIs and data layers.
• Drive scalability, performance, reliability, and security decisions.
• Build and optimize backend services and modern frontend applications.
• Design RESTful / GraphQL APIs and real-time, event-driven systems.
• As a technical anchor, mentor engineers and lead design/code reviews.
• Architect and manage applications on AWS/Azure/GCP with containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Establish CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, and promote infrastructure as code.
• Design data systems using SQL and NoSQL databases; optimize queries and caching.
• Ensure observability with monitoring, logging, and tracing tools.

We are looking for a Senior Staff Engineer - Full Stack who can operate at the intersection of deep technology, architecture, and product innovation. This role demands strong ownership in building scalable, distributed, high-performance systems while mentoring teams and influencing technical direction across the organization. You will play a critical role in designing end-to-end systems, driving engineering excellence, and contributing to long-term platform strategy.

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Architecture and System Design:

• Lead the design and implementation of large-scale distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Own end-to-end system design including backend services, frontend architecture, APIs, and data layers.
• Drive decisions around scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
• Design low-latency, high-throughput systems handling millions of users/transactions.

Full Stack Development:

• Build and optimize backend services (Java /. NET / Node.js / Go).
• Develop modern, responsive frontend applications (React.js / Angular / Vue.js ).
• Design and implement RESTful / GraphQL APIs.
• Work on real-time systems, event-driven architecture, and streaming pipelines.

Technical Leadership:

• Act as a technical anchor across teams; influence architecture and engineering best practices.
• Mentor senior engineers and lead design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
• Drive engineering standards, coding practices, and system reliability initiatives.

Cloud and Platform Engineering:

• Architect and manage applications on AWS / Azure / GCP.
• Work with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code.

Data and Performance Engineering:

• Design systems using SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).
• Optimize query performance, caching strategies, and data modeling.
• Ensure system observability using monitoring, logging, and tracing tools.

Requirements:

• 11-16 years of hands-on experience in software engineering with strong product engineering exposure.
• Proven expertise in full-stack development (backend + frontend).
• Strong experience in system design, distributed systems, and microservices architecture.
• Expertise in one or more backend stacks: Java / Spring Boot, . NET Core, Node.js / Go.
• Expertise in frontend technologies: React.js / Angular / Vue.js .
• Deep understanding of: Data structures and algorithms, Design patterns, and Scalable system design.
• Hands-on experience with: Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes, and Docker. Messaging systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building high-scale consumer or enterprise SaaS products.
• Exposure to event-driven architecture, CQRS, and domain-driven design (DDD).
• Experience with AI/ML systems, recommendation engines, or GenAI integration (good to have).
• Strong understanding of security, compliance, and data privacy frameworks.
• Prior experience as Staff / Principal Engineer in product companies.
