Overview

Unico Connect is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to architect and ship complex client features end-to-end. The role spans frontend architecture, backend system design, multi-database ownership, and the mentorship that scales the engineering practice. The position is well suited to senior engineers who can balance performance, type-safety, observability, and shipping velocity at production scale.

Responsibilities

• Architect and ship complex full-stack initiatives end-to-end
• Lead technical scoping with Product Managers and the Tech Lead
• Mentor 2-3 junior full-stack engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and 1:1s
• Drive performance optimisation across frontend (Core Web Vitals) and backend (P95 latency)
• Own production incidents and post-mortems; build resilience patterns
• Set frontend and backend standards including testing, observability, security, and type-safety
• Partner with DevOps on deployment, scaling, and on-call practices
• Lead architecture conversations for owned products including ADRs and design reviews
• Govern security posture for owned services including OWASP and SAST tooling
• Calibrate the full-stack interview bar and conduct senior interview loops
• Author internal full-stack playbooks and onboarding documentation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack engineering with at least 2 in a senior role
• Deep React and Next.js (App Router, server components, streaming)
• Strong Node.js with TypeScript or Python; production patterns ideally in both
• Multi-database experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Hands-on with Vercel, GCP, or AWS deployments at production scale
• Excellent code review, mentorship, and written communication skills
• Track record of owning at least 1 product at production scale (multi-tenant, high QPS, or regulated)
• Experience leading architecture decisions across both frontend and backend
• Capacity to balance product, performance, and engineering trade-offs
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
