Programmers.io seeks an experienced Senior SQL Server & PostgreSQL DBA to manage, support, optimize, and enhance enterprise database environments across on‑premises and cloud platforms. You'll collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to ensure high availability, security, and scalable performance.

The role requires hands-on SQL Server and PostgreSQL expertise, including migration, optimization, and production support, with a focus on automation and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Database Administration and SQL Development.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server DBA activities supporting production environments.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
• Experience with query tuning, execution plan analysis, indexing, database optimization, and performance troubleshooting.
• Experience with database migration, schema conversion, data migration, and modernization projects.
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of backup and recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and database security best practices.
• Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with database deployment tools, version control, and CI/CD processes.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in database administration, SQL development, performance tuning, migration, and production support.

This role requires hands-on experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and cloud-managed database services, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with application development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Database Administration and SQL Development.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server DBA activities supporting mission-critical production environments.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
