Job summary

Gartner in Gurgaon, India is seeking a Senior Specialist to join the Territory Planning & Analytics (TP&A) team within GSSO. You will lead account assignment and data-driven improvements, partnering with Marketing, Sales Operations and DS&E to optimize routing and performance.

You will analyse operational metrics, run high-impact projects with minimal guidance, and develop training materials and tools to support the Sales organization.

Qualifications

  • MBA or Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience in service operations preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite; Power BI and Macros a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to translate queries into process-improvement insights through analysis.
  • Self-starter with collaboration and time-management skills.

Job description

Global Sales & Services Operations (GSSO) is the team that helps shape Gartner\'s mission-critical sales and services priorities and works with sales and services leaders to drive tactical and analytical insights. As an associate on the GSSO team, you\'ll be at the forefront of the ongoing transformation of Gartner\'s Sales and Services teams, which delivers approximately $5.3B in annual business and technology insights revenue. You will partner with business leaders across Gartner to support global Sales and Services teams comprised nearly 9,000 associates and which sell to and service every major function across the enterprise.

About the role

The role is a part of the Territory Planning & Analytics (TP&A) team in GSSO. The TP&A team is focused on designing the optimal territory investment, design and alignment strategy to maximize Sales (and Services) productivity. The Senior Specialist will be joining the New Assignment Team. The primary objective of this team is to ensure that accounts are validated and routed to the appropriate sales representative based on secondary research into company firmographic data.

The Senior Specialist will be expected to lead and independently manage the defined Operational deliverables by executing quality output of the key processes and enable the Sales team to pursue right opportunities. As an individual contributor, they will partner with various key stakeholders like Marketing, Sales & Strategy Operation, DS&E and Sales teams and improve your understanding of complex business problems from diverse perspectives and support in driving key projects and initiatives aimed to improve the Account Assignment process.

What you will do
  • Regional account assignment:
    • Execute business-critical Account Assignment operations and support the leadership team in process changes and related training for larger teams.
    • Ensure quick and accurate assignment of new accounts to the Sales team, enhancing the seller/customer experience and improving speed-to-lead rates.
    • Understand key operational metrics and use available data to identify the right salesperson, applying the appropriate routing logic for account assignment.
    • Perform quality checks on account assignments based on defined routing logic and data sources and identify opportunities for individual and process improvements.
  • Analytical problem solving:
    • Analyse and improve account assignment processes by identifying root causes of problems identified or escalations by sales and marketing teams to ensure fixes are implemented.
    • Drive high-complexity projects with minimal guidance, independently executing assigned work streams.
    • Conduct data analysis and support reporting needs, as well as provide ad-hoc data critical for business decisions.
    • Become proficient with data tools and internal applications, including Anaplan, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Stakeholder management:
    • Communicate efficiently with Sales Managers and representatives, providing swift and accurate responses and resolutions.
    • Collaborate with leadership to establish and report performance goals that align with Sales & Strategy operational objectives.
    • Develop and maintain tools, resources, and training materials within processes, contributing to knowledge capture and documentation.
What you will need
  • An MBA or Bachelor\'s degree, with 3+ years of experience. Relevant experience in service operations is preferred.
  • Practical understanding of Microsoft office suit. Knowledge of Power BI and Macros is a plus.
  • Practical, intuitive problem solving and the ability to translate queries and reported issues into process improvement insights through analysis
  • Proficiency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong mix of thought leadership and business acumen, with a proven track record of delivering outstanding results.
  • Strong collaboration skills; be a self-starter who can anticipate business needs and proactively work on them
  • The ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and produce accurate results.
