Job summary

BVR People Consulting seeks a Senior Design Engineer specializing in Transformer Design for our client in Baroda. You will work in a global engineering environment focused on distribution, oil, dry, and power transformers, supporting tender and technical proposals.

The role requires 7–12 years in electrical transformer design, IS/IEC/IEEE standards, and collaboration with international teams. Strong English communication and proficiency with simulations and MS Office are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical design quotations meeting factory limitations and standards (IEEE/IEC/IS) per project schedule.
• Prepare customer documents, manufacturing documents, BOMs per project schedule.

• Participate in internal design concept reviews.
• Liaise with technical teams across multiple countries.

Role & responsibilities

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer specializing in Transformer Design at the Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India, youll be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, diversity, and collaboration. The Transformers Business Unit is leading the way in energy transformation, delivering advanced solutions across a wide range of industries.

How youll make an impact

• The success candidate will be the part of an International Design and Engineering Team specialized in Distribution/ Power / OIL/ Dry Transformer design covering different countries.
• Influence specification at the tender and pre-tender stage, through conceptual discussions.
• Responsible to prepare electrical design Quotation meeting factory limitation, guideline, and checklist as per IEEE / IEC /IS standards as per project schedule.
• Responsible for Preparation of Customer documents, Manufacturing documents, Bill of materials etc. as per project schedule.
• Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network.
• Participation in internal design concept reviews.
• Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

• B.E / B. Tech Electrical Engineering.
• 7 to 12 years experience working in Electrical design for Distribution/ Power / OIL/ Dry Transformers manufacturing Industry. Candidates with higher experience also to be considered.
• Order Engineering experience is required. Deep understanding manufacturing of transformer is required.
• Understanding of Transformer Electrical Design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics.
• Should have good understanding of IS/ IEC /IEEE Standards/ Canadian Standards.
• Experience in Simulation or software development would be advantageous.
• Experience on Microsoft office and tools.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.
• Demonstrated team building skills, would be a preference.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
