21K School is seeking a meticulous Software Test Engineer to join our Quality Assurance division in Bengaluru. You will conduct comprehensive QA across web and mobile applications, ensuring compliance with functional requirements, technical specs, and user experience standards.

You will design and execute manual test cases, perform functional, regression, and API testing, log defects, collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile, and contribute to test documentation and release readiness.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of demonstrable experience in manual software testing of web and/or mobile applications.
• Understanding of SDLC/STLC methodologies.
• Proficiency with defect tracking systems (JIRA, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing tools (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
• Familiarity with API testing using REST clients such as Postman.
• Ability to write basic SQL queries for database testing.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and test-design documentation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive quality assurance across our web and mobile applications, ensuring compliance with functional requirements, technical specifications, and user experience standards.
This position requires strong analytical skills, deep understanding of testing methodologies, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional development teams in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive manual test cases and test scenarios for web and mobile applications in accordance with established testing protocols
• Perform multiple testing methodologies including functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, smoke, and sanity testing
• Validate end-to-end user workflows and business-critical processes to ensure seamless, intuitive user experiences
• Identify, document, and track software defects and anomalies using JIRA or similar defect management tools with appropriate severity and priority classifications
• Conduct cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing using BrowserStack or equivalent testing platforms to ensure consistent performance across all target platforms
• Verify user interface and user experience implementation against design specifications and wireframes to ensure visual accuracy and consistency
• Perform API testing using Postman or similar REST client tools to validate backend integrations and ensure correct data flow
• Execute database testing using SQL queries to validate data integrity, consistency, and correct application behavior
• Test critical business workflows including user authentication, data processing, payment integration, and transaction management
• Validate application responsiveness and functionality across multiple devices and operating systems (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS)
• Identify and document edge cases, boundary conditions, and potential error scenarios to ensure comprehensive test coverage
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
• Maintain detailed and comprehensive test documentation including test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test execution reports
• Support production release cycles by conducting pre-release testing and comprehensive post-release validation testing
• Establish effective collaboration with Product Managers, Software Developers, and Design teams to understand requirements and resolve issues efficiently
• Generate and present quality assurance metrics, test coverage analysis, and provide data-driven recommendations for process improvement
• Identify opportunities for test automation and provide recommendations for improving testing efficiency and effectiveness

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• 3-6 years of demonstrable experience in manual software testing of web and/or mobile applications
• Comprehensive understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) methodologies
• Proficiency in defect tracking and issue management systems (JIRA, Azure DevOps, or equivalent platforms)
• Hands-on experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing tools (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or similar solutions)
• Working knowledge of API testing methodologies and practical experience with REST client tools such as Postman
• Demonstrated competency in SQL for database testing and the ability to write basic queries
• Hands-on experience executing functional and regression testing across various application types
• Sound understanding of HTTP/REST API concepts and client-server architecture principles
• Familiarity with test case design methodologies, test plan documentation, and quality assurance best practices

• Experience with performance testing, load testing, or stress testing methodologies
• Familiarity with application security testing and OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities
• Experience with test management and reporting tools (TestRail, Zephyr, HP Quality Center)
• Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and accessibility testing
• Experience with mobile application testing across iOS and Android platforms
• Familiarity with test data management practices and strategies
