Job summary

Carl Zeiss India (Bangalore) Pvt. Ltd. seeks an experienced ServiceNow Developer to join its DevOps team in Bengaluru.

You will implement and operate SPM/ITBM solutions across Demand, Project, Portfolio, Resource and Financial Management, while ensuring security and staying close to standards to avoid tech debt. With 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow experience, you will design integrations via REST/SOAP, apply PowerShell, and collaborate across product teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science with 5+ years as a ServiceNow Developer.
• Strong hands-on SPM/ITBM experience: Demand, Project, Portfolio, Resource, Finance.
• Solid JavaScript skills, OO programming and software design fundamentals.
• Experience integrating systems via REST/SOAP and PowerShell.
• Agile/hybrid delivery experience; ITIL Foundation and PM certs beneficial.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsibility for implementing and operating the supported solutions within the DevOps team.
• Ensuring implementation that stays close to the standard in order to avoid technical debt and make optimal use of platform enhancements.
• Developing high-quality, sustainable solutions with a forward-looking view across the entire product lifecycle.
• Responsibility for the security of the products and solutions to be supported.
• Close collaboration across teams and products with other ServiceNow product teams.
• Active contribution as a central part of the DevOps product team, including the integration of connected products and systems.
• Use AI technologies to fulfill role responsibilities, improve development, automate tasks, and enhance efficiency and quality.
• Explore, evaluate, and empower the adoption of new AI technologies within the product team and the broader ServiceNow platform.
• Design and develop ServiceNow SPM (ITBM) solutions across Demand, Project, Portfolio, Resource, and Financial Management.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and sustainable technical solutions.
• Continuously improve SPM processes, governance, and data models.
• Integrate SPM with enterprise systems using standard integration technologies (REST/SOAP).
• Leverage AI capabilities (e.g., Now Assist) and supporting tools to enhance automation, efficiency, and developer productivity.

Education & Work Experience

• Completed a degree in computer science.
• 5+ years of professional experience and proven success as a ServiceNow Developer.
• Strong hands-on experience in Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM / ITBM) modules including Demand, Project, Portfolio, Resource, and Financial Management.
• Sound knowledge of JavaScript development, with a focus on object-oriented programming and a solid understanding of class structures, class inheritance, and software design principles.
• In-depth knowledge of troubleshooting, performance optimization, and root cause analysis.
• Solid experience in designing and implementing integrations (REST/SOAP/PowerShell).
• Proven in-depth experience in managing ServiceNow implementation projects and integrating external systems using various integration technologies.
• Experience working in agile structures and implementing agile and hybrid projects, complemented by strong teamwork skills and goal orientation.
• Basic knowledge of AI technologies and their practical application.
• Basic understanding of AI ServiceNow platform capabilities (Now Assist).
• Experience as a full-stack developer is helpful but not required.
• ITIL Foundation level and project management certification are advantageous.
