Job summary

ZEISS India, headquartered in Bengaluru, is seeking a ServiceNow Application Specialist/Developer to join the DevOps team. You will implement and operate the supported ITOM solutions, ensure implementations stay close to standard to avoid technical debt, and work with monitoring tools, cloud platforms, and external data sources.

Candidates should have 5+ years of ServiceNow experience, strong JavaScript skills, and expertise in ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science.
• 5+ years experience as ServiceNow Application Specialist/Developer.
• Strong ITOM (Visibility, Health, Event Management), HAM, and SAM knowledge.
• Experience in Event Management implementation projects.
• Experience with CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping.
• Proficient in JavaScript with OO patterns.
• Experience in integrations (REST/SOAP/PowerShell).
• Experience in agile/hybrid projects and teamwork.
• Basic knowledge of AI technologies and NowAssist.
• ITIL Foundation and project management certification advantageous.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsibility for implementing and operating the supported solutions within the DevOps team
• Ensuring implementation that stays close to the standard in order to avoid technical debt and make optimal use of platform enhancements
• Developing high-quality, sustainable solutions with a forward-looking view across the entire product lifecycle
• Responsibility for the security of the products and solutions to be supported
• Close collaboration across teams and products with other ServiceNow product teams
• Active contribution as a central part of the DevOps product team, including the integration of connected products and systems
• Use AI technologies to fulfill role responsibilities, improve development, automate tasks, and enhance efficiency and quality
• Explore, evaluate, and empower the adoption of new AI technologies within the product team and the broader ServiceNow platform
• Implementation of enterprise-grade ServiceNow ITOM solutions (Visibility, Health, Event Management) Configuration (event ingestion, correlation, alerting, workflows) Integration with monitoring tools, cloud platforms, and external data sources
• Improve CMDB data quality, discovery patterns, and service mapping accuracy
• Aligning ITOM with HAM and SAM for asset transparency

Education & Work Experience

• Completed a degree in computer science.
• 5+ years of professional experience and proven success as a ServiceNow Application Specialist / Developer.
• Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of ITOM (Visibility, Health, Event Management), HAM, and SAM.
• Proven experience in Event Management implementation projects.
• Solid experience with CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping concepts.
• Sound knowledge of JavaScript development, with a focus on object-oriented programming and a solid understanding of class structures, class inheritance, and software design principles.
• In-depth knowledge of troubleshooting, performance optimization, and root cause analysis.
• Solid experience in designing and implementing integrations (REST/SOAP/PowerShell).
• Proven in-depth experience in managing ServiceNow implementation projects and integrating external systems using various integration technologies.
• Experience working in agile structures and implementing agile and hybrid projects, complemented by strong teamwork skills and goal orientation.
• Basic knowledge of AI technologies and their practical application.
• Basic understanding of AI ServiceNow platform capabilities (NowAssist).
• Experience as a full-stack developer is helpful but not required.
• ITIL Foundation level and project management certification are advantageous.

Nice to Have

• ServiceNow certifications (CIS-Discovery, CIS-HAM, CIS-SAM)
• AIOps and observability tools experience
• Knowledge of data-driven architecture
