Job summary

Nextuple is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, OMS to design and develop scalable enterprise software for the retail industry. You will work across the stack, translating requirements into technical solutions and delivering reliable applications.

You will tackle complex integration challenges, contribute to architecture decisions, and collaborate with engineers and architects to build robust OMS capabilities for retailers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master in relevant field with 4+ years software development experience.
• Experience in enterprise-level software development using open source tech.
• Ability to design client-side and server-side architecture and perform high/low level design.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer, OMS to join our engineering team and help develop scalable, enterprise-class software for the retail industry.

In this role, you'll work across the application stack, translating business requirements into technical solutions, designing and developing software, and collaborating with engineers and architects to deliver reliable, high-performing applications.

You'll have the opportunity to tackle complex integration and engineering challenges while contributing to the technology that supports modern retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

Software Design & Development

• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Identify impacts of planned work on existing functionality
• Plan and estimate work to be completed
• Design of client-side and server-side architecture
• Does high level & low level design of functional software requirements.
• Must be able to do quick proofs of concepts and demos based on client requirements.
• Ensuring responsiveness of applications.
• Develop unit and integration tests
• Create security and data protection settings
• Write technical documentation

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Must be a team player. Work closely with the team lead and deliver upon the assigned tasks. Provide technical guidance / coaching to team members.
• Remain on the forefront of knowledge in the industry, and share learnings with other team members and with the company
• Contributes to organization building functions such as hiring, training, mentoring, team building

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

• Bachelor in Engineering / Technology (4 year) or Master in Computer Applications (2 year)
• Must possess at least 4 years of Software development experience.
• Demonstrated experience in enterprise-level software development.
• Experience in developing enterprise software using open source software

Technical Skills & Technologies

• Expertise in at least one programming language like Java or JavaScript, Spring Boot or React JS framework and RDBMS or NoSQL database like MongoDB.
• Must be able to do code reviews and merge Pull requests.
• Can write backend and user interface code with equal ease. Has a good understanding of DevOps tasks.
• Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
• Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. Java, Python, C#) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
• Familiarity with RDBMS and NoSQL databases (e.g. MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design
• Experience with development tools including IDE, Git, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle etc.
• Experience with testing frameworks like JUnit, Jest, JMeter, Selenium etc.
• Experience in integrating with backend systems.
• Understanding of enterprise-scale systems and configurations related to security.

• Excellent written and verbal communication. Must understand the business requirements & translate them into software requirements. Has a view on the deliverable timeline and escalates when needed.

• Has ability to work in a lightweight process environment, including requirements and test planning documentation.
• Capable of high performance in a two-week iteration cadence with frequent product deliveries.
• Self-motivated and works with minimal direction.
• Takes ownership of tasks and executes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in implementing OMS product for retail customers will be added advantage.

Certifications

Having some or all the following certifications will be an added advantage for Senior Software Engineer role at Nextuple.

• Oracle Certified Professional
• Spring Certified Professional
• Any NoSql / Cassandra / MongoDB certified developer
• Any retail OMS / Supply Chain product certifications
