Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise India Private Limited is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Networking Datapath (L3/MPLS Forwarding) to design and develop next-gen networking platforms. The role is onsite with office-based work expectations in Bengaluru, India.

You will collaborate with product management, software, and test teams to deliver high-quality networking solutions and support customer deployments. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in router/switch architectures and MPLS/SRv6

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field.
• 8-15 years of experience, preferably in a router/switch company.
• Experience with JunOS or Junos EVO software architecture is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop cutting-edge platforms for next-gen Access and Aggregation Deployments, Metro, Mobile Backhaul with JunOS or Junos EVO software architecture.
• Collaborate with product management, system and solution test teams to ensure high quality of products/solutions.
• Engage with Juniper Technical Assistance Team for engineering support on critical customer deployments.

Job Description

What you’ll do

• You will be responsible for product development of cutting-edge platforms for next gen Access and Aggregation Deployments, Metro, Mobile Backhaul with JunOS or Junos EVO software architecture.
• In addition to the development activity, you are required to work closely with product management, system, and solution test teams to ensure products/solutions delivered are of the highest quality.
• You will be required to work closely with Juniper Technical Assistance Team for providing engineering assistance in supporting critical customer escalations for customer deployments.

Education and Experience Required

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field. Around 8 - 15 years of experience, preferably in a router/switch company.

Knowledge and Skills

• Good knowledge of Router/Switch architecture.
• Prior work experience in any one of the domains: L3 Forwarding, MPLS/L3VPN, L2VPN, EVPN, SR-MPLS, SRv6, GRE.
• Understanding of system architecture for network processor-based products.
• Experience in design/development of forwarding software.
• Prior experience with Broadcom ASICs like Qumran/Jericho is highly desirable.
• Experience in trouble-shooting problems in actual customer network deployments or in complex lab topologies will be a plus.
• Strong Coding and debugging skills with extensive experience in core file analysis.
• A strong understanding of concepts related to computer architecture, data structures and programming practices is desirable.
