Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Bengaluru (India) seeks an experienced Software Developer with strong networking expertise to design and implement layered software portions. You will work on OS concepts, data structures, and C/C++ development for Layer2/Layer3 networking systems.

The role requires proficiency in TCP/IP, Ethernet, EVPN or VXLAN and related technologies, plus experience with Linux/UNIX environments. A hybrid work model applies, with office days on average two per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Typically 2-4 years of experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience in Layer2/Layer3 networking is required.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills and OS concepts.

Responsibilities

• Designs enhancements and updates for subsystems of systems software and networking tools.

Job Description

What you’ll do:

• Designs limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compliers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
• Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on specific objectives and established project guidelines.
• Executes and writes portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs issues with code and suggests changes or improvements.
• Participates as a member of project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.
• Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

Education And Experience Required

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Typically 2-4 years of experience.

What You Need To Bring

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Developer in Layer2/Layer3 networking or related systems area
• In-depth knowledge of data networking, e.g., TCP/IP, Ethernet and similar technologies
• Experience in one or more of EVPN, VXLAN, MACSec 802.1AE, MKA, 802.1X, L2 switching, VLANs
• Proficiency in switching and routing technologies, including Layer-2 protocols, e.g., STP, LACP, MVRP, LLDP, BGP.
• Experience on Virtualization.
• Strong in C/C++ programming, data structures, algorithms, OS concepts
• Excellent problem solving and debugging skills
• Proficiency in software development with Linux/FreeBSD or similar UNIX systems
• BS/MS in Computer Science or similar discipline
