Job summary

Embitel Technologies is seeking an E2E Test Engineer for our CARIAD India BU, located in Whitefield, Bangalore. You will perform component and end-to-end testing of automotive systems, analyze CAN messages, and validate IDS deployments within an international product team.

The role requires Python scripting, Robot Framework, and strong knowledge of vehicle networks (CAN/SOME-IP/TLS). You will collaborate with CI/CD engineers and IDS teams to strengthen testing tooling and processes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in components testing in automotive domain (ECUs, vehicle platforms).
• Hands-on Python scripting and test automation using Robot Framework.
• Knowledge of vehicle networking protocols (CAN, SOME-IP, TLS).
• Familiarity with test-management tools such as Xray/JIRA and basic backend data validation in Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Perform component, integration, and end-to-end testing for automotive systems.
• Analyze CAN messages and system triggers; validate IDS test setups.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform component, integration, and execute manual and automated end-to-end testing for automotive systems.
• Analyze and validate CAN messages, system triggers, and testing of for Intrusion Detection System (IDS) including setting up of test setups and maintaining hardware.
• Develop and maintain tests as part of an international product team, being responsible for the quality of the tests and their results.
• Support in the validation of products, prototypes, MVPs, vehicle-level test and official end-to-end validation activities.
• Manage and track test cases in Xray (JIRA) – creation, update, execution, traceability with requirements/implementation JIRA tickets and result documentation.
• Trigger and monitor test runs, ensuring all test evidence and results are documented.
• Create detailed test reports for project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with developers and CI/CD engineers to simulate environments (e.g., SOME-IPs, system triggers).
• Perform cloud-related validation (Backend tool usage (eg Databricks), running SQL queries for validation).
• Develop automation using Python and write helper scripts in scripting languages such as Shell.
• Collaborate with IDS teams continuously improving the tooling and processes and solving potential roadblocks.
• Articulation of security findings and presenting to project stakeholders.

Skills Required

• Proven experience in components testing in the automotive domain (ECUs, vehicle platforms, integration).
• Hands‑on experience in Python scripting, Robot Framework and test automation tools.
• Strong understanding of Vehicle networking protocols (CAN, SOME‑IP, TLS etc).
• Experience in Automotive Cybersecurity and understanding of ISO/SAE 21434 (with familiarity in IDS).
• Experience in Access control, Firewall, Network Segmentation, CAN Bus Security, Ethernet Security, Secure Communication and, OTA.
• Hands‑on experience with Xray in JIRA or Codebeamer for test case management.
• Experience in working in Agile environments (SAFe / Scrum / Kanban).
• Experience in creating test runs and structured test reports.
• Basic knowledge of backend tools (like Databricks) and ability to execute SQL queries for data validation.
• Proficiency in Linux environment, Python and experience in tooling support skills or scripting (shell scripting, etc).
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional and international teams, and clearly communicate findings.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Analytical and structured problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and problem‑solving attitude.
• Good to have experience with Scapy - network packages construction (Ethernet/VLAN/IPv6/TCP/UDP/ICMPv6/DoIP).
• Good to have familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Docker).
