Job summary

Quest Global in India seeks a software professional with strong Core Java and Swing experience to contribute to medical devices domain projects. You will participate in requirement analysis, design, coding and testing (manual and automation), and take ownership of new features, bug fixes, and enhancements.

You will understand existing architectures, collaborate with global teams and stakeholders, and may mentor a small team up to three members as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Core Java and Swing for application development.
• Experience with Java in medical devices domain is a plus.
• Strong understanding of OOP and Java design patterns.
• Familiar with OSGi and modular development practices.

Responsibilities

Job Requirements

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Participate in requirement analysis, design, coding and testing (manual as well as automation)
• Ability to understand/learn architecture and design of existing applications developed mainly using Core Java / Swing
• Take ownership of assigned jobs that are part of new feature implementations, bug fixes and enhancement activities
• Technical communication with internal / external stakeholders and collaborate with global teams will be part of job
• Ability to lead/mentor teams of size up to 3 (Secondary Responsibility)

Required Skills (Technical Competency)

• Strong programming skills in Core Java and design patterns
• Develop applications using Core Java/Swing for Medical Devices domain
• Deep knowledge in Object-Oriented concepts and experience in implementing the same using Java
• Good understanding of OSGI framework and working experience in OSGI based development
• 3-5 years of experience in design and development of software applications and frameworks
• Basic understanding skills in Javascript, HTML5, CSS3 and web stack
• Experience in working with Agile methodology of project execution
• Having experience in components developed in C++, Perl, and Python etc. is an added advantage

Desired Skills

• Ability to explore large code base and understand architecture and design
• Ability to deliver without much supervision from lead/managers
• Good working knowledge in Core Java enterprise / engineering applications
• Familiar with tools like WinScp, Putty, Rally, Clearcase, Collaborator, SVN
• Proficiency with MS Office, particularly MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
