Job summary

Quest Global in Kerala seeks a Java developer with 3–6 years of hands-on experience to contribute to design, development, and testing of Java-based applications, including microservices and REST APIs.

You will own features end-to-end, mentor juniors, and collaborate with global teams in an agile setting using Jenkins for CI/CD and modern web technologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–6 years of Java design and development experience.
• Strong Core Java, Spring Boot and microservices knowledge.
• Solid OO concepts and Java implementation experience.
• RESTful APIs, JSON and service-to-service communication.
• CI/CD pipeline setup with Jenkins or equivalent tools.
• JUnit/Mockito and test automation experience.
• Linux/Unix-based Java development experience.
• Basic frontend tech: JavaScript/HTML5/CSS3.
• Agile environment with Jira/Rally.
• Experience with Swing/Angular/Python/C++ is a plus.
• Healthcare domain familiarity and DICOM is beneficial.

Job Requirements

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Participate in requirement analysis, design, coding, and testing (unit and integration, manual and automated).
• Understand and learn architecture and design of existing applications developed using Java and microservices.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks related to new feature design, implementation, bug fixes, and enhancements.
• Engage in technical communication with internal/external stakeholders and collaborate with global teams.
• Contribute to code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and maintain high-quality deliverables.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance when required.

Work Experience

Required Skills (Technical Competency):

• Minimum3 to 6 years of experience in design and development of Java-based applications.
• Strong programming skills in Core Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Deep knowledge of Object-Oriented concepts and experience implementing them in Java.
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and service-to-service communication.
• Experience with Jenkins or similar tools for CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance.
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito) and test automation practices.
• Strong experience in developing Linux/Unix-based applications using Core Java.
• Basic understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and web technology stack.
• Experience working with Agile methodology and tools like Jira/Rally.
• Experience with Java Swing, Angular, Python and C++is an added advantage.
• Experience in healthcare domain (Medical Devices, Imaging Platforms) and familiarity with DICOM standard is a plus.

Desired Skills:

• Ability to explore large code bases and understand architecture and design
• Ability to deliver independently without much supervision from leads/managers
• Good working knowledge of Java enterprise/engineering applications
• Familiarity with tools like WinSCP, Putty, Rally, Git, ClearCase, Collaborator, SVN
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
