Job summary

SiteMinder Limited is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Maharashtra. You will design, develop and maintain Java-based applications with a focus on performance and scalability, while collaborating with a distributed agile team to deliver high-quality software.

You’ll lead code reviews, mentor juniors, participate in release planning, and ensure robust, extensible code. Experience with Kotlin, REST APIs, AWS, and Docker is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java/JVM and Spring Boot with a focus on performance.
• Experience designing microservice architectures and RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.).
• Experience with relational databases and key-value stores.
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional distributed agile team to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Work with other developers, pair-program, review pull requests, and contribute improvements.
• Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers to uphold coding standards.
• Lead and participate in release planning and sprint activities.
• Write clean, well-structured code balancing performance, robustness, and extensibility.
• Support production systems via on-call rotation and understand infrastructure as code.
• Lead guilds and drive continuous improvements across the engineering org.

About the Senior Software Engineer role…

As Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible to design, develop software solutions according to SiteMinder's engineering standard. Take ownership to solve. Maintain system resilience and improve engineering quality and efficiency.

What You’ll Do…

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications with a focus on performance and scalability
• Collaborate with cross-functional distributed agile team to deliver high quality solution
• Work closely with other developers, pair-programming, reviewing pull requests, and contributing incremental improvements to code and coding practices
• Lead code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers to uphold coding standards and best practices.
• Lead and participate in release and team activities such as planning, daily stand-up and sprint review
• Write clean, well-organised code, while making appropriate trade-offs between performance, robustness, and extensibility
• Support production systems via on-call roster
• Able to understand and write infrastructure as a code
• Lead and participant in guild to drive for improvements

What you have…

• Experienced in Java/JVM technologies, preferably springboot
• Previous experience in Kotlin is highly desirable
• Understand microservice architectures and RESTful APIs
• AWS experience with one or more of the following: EC2, Kinesis, SQS, Lambda, S3
• Competent with relational databases (e.g MySQL, Aurora) and key/value store databases (e.g. Cassandra, Redis)
• Understand code testability, build pipelines, docker, and CI/CD systems
• Keep up with best practices, technologies, and programming languages/frameworks.
