SiteMinder Limited is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications with a focus on performance at scale. You will collaborate with a distributed agile team to deliver high quality solutions and participate in code reviews and mentorship.

The role emphasizes infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and containerized deployments, with a preference for Kotlin experience and a strong background in RESTful services.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building Java/JVM apps with Spring Boot in a microservices environment.
• Kotlin is a plus and beneficial for the team.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and cloud-based services (AWS).

About the Senior Software Engineer role…

As Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible to design, develop software solutions according to SiteMinder's engineering standard. Take ownership to solve. Maintain system resilience and improve engineering quality and efficiency.

What you’ll do…

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications with a focus on performance and scalability

• Collaborate with cross-functional distributed agile team to deliver high quality solution

• Work closely with other developers, pair-programming, reviewing pull requests, and contributing incremental improvements to code and coding practices

• Lead code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers to uphold coding standards and best practices.

• Lead and participate in release and team activities such as planning, daily stand-up and sprint review

• Write clean, well-organised code, while making appropriate trade-offs between performance, robustness, and extensibility

• Support production systems via on-call roster

• Able to understand and write infrastructure as a code

• Lead and participant in guild to drive for improvements

What you have…

• Experienced in Java/JVM technologies, preferably springboot

• Previous experience in Kotlin is highly desirable

• Understand microservice architectures and RESTful APIs

• AWS experience with one or more of the following: EC2, Kinesis, SQS, Lambda, S3

• Competent with relational databases (e.g MySQL, Aurora) and key/value store databases (e.g. Cassandra, Redis)

• Understand code testability, build pipelines, docker, and CI/CD systems

• Keep up with best practices, technologies, and programming languages/frameworks.
