Job summary

Optum is seeking a senior backend engineer to build scalable, GenAI-enabled services on AWS. You will design and implement backend solutions using Python, Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, and data services like S3, with a focus on reliability and performance.

You will collaborate with product managers and architects to drive omni-channel digital engagement, migrating from legacy platforms and delivering reusable automation tooling for rapid delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Proven AWS experience with Amazon Connect, Lambda, Step Functions, Bedrock, Lex, and S3.
• GenAI or ML-powered application development using AWS or open-source frameworks.
• Strong understanding of digital customer engagement platforms and omni-channel architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and monitoring in an agile environment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Implementation of GenAI-driven features using Amazon Bedrock, Lex, and SageMaker to enhance customer and agent experiences.

Build and maintain backend services and orchestration workflows using Python, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, and API Gateway.

Collaborate with product managers, solution architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features.

Develop reusable frameworks and automation tools to accelerate digital migration from Genesys and LivePerson.
